| ![]() I have an idea. how close is the rescue dog to your home? Can you set up a play date to see how they get along? When you do choose to bring in a new dog allow yourself some alone time with your current dog so he can adjust from only child to multi furchild syndrome. lol. We went for several months w/o letting the new addition sleep in our bed it was a combo of didn't think the puppy could hold it all night and needing to let our big girl know she was still our baby. The turn of events between the dogs took place on their own. My female is more then happy to hand things over to the puppy she spoils him all on her own. She lets him eat first and even sits back and allows him to rush to us first. She knows shes still our special girl and doesn't seam to be put out at all. We waited 5 years before I got the want another dog itch. The first week was tuff. My older dog wanted to play with the puppy and I was afraid he was too small. But by week two they were playing tag and hide and go seek. Now you can't separate them w/o there being issues. Sugar my female has depression when my male goes to the groomers or the vet w/o her. |
