| I think I want another dog - questions Cooper will be 2 the end of May. He's a Morkie and I brought him home when he was 2 months old. I think i want another dog. I'd like another Morkie, or Yorkie as I feel I'm familiar with the breed. Cooper is an "only child" right now and I'm not sure what kind of social issues could develop. He seems to love little dogs (he's 9 pounds, so anything smaller). However, he's the light of my life and seems to be truly happy and I certainly don't want to disrupt that. I would sincerely appreciate any opinions, tips or any stories about bringing home a second dog and how things worked out.

| I have no answers for you. Cerise is an only child and I wish you the best of luck I would think it's a B when that yearning for a new baby starts. I pray that I don't get it because I'll be a nervous wreck thinking about what she will do to me if I bring in another baby into her palace This is off the subject... how is New Orleans for vacationing with a Yorkie? I have been thinking about going there with Cerise next month for a four day trip.

| I fell you! Tucker is a little over 3 years and his little baby sister comes home in about 2 weeks. So I can get back to you then . Tucker is such a momma's boy and an attention hog so I am a little worried. Do you have any friends with small dogs? Try a weekend trial run! That what we did ( my friends dog was actually mean too) he was another little yorkie Tucker was actually happy. I know you cant really compare that to having a dog in your house for good but you will get the jist I think if you have a boy a girl will be a good answer. I am presonally really looking forward to it!

ya i truly do as long as they are fixed. I would ask a breeder though I am just a dog lover. I was having this problem and I was told that they will keep each other in line that way lol I can fil you in how it is when i get her. Tucker has always loved cats but I hate them(anything that sheds does not step foot in our place). I was going to get a hair less cat but bf refused, so we decided on another little girl. I am so worried about traveling with one more. We love to travel and Tucker loves it. I hope the little girl does not get car sick and such. Sorry about my rant just thinking about everything.

YT 500 Club Member | We added our second [Rosie] when Alfie was 10 months old and it was a great success, we've just added out third [chihuahua puppy this time] and its admitedly taken a little longer for the adjustment to take place. Rosie was mostly curious but suspicious and Alfie would grumble at her constantly for two days then gradually over a week they got used to her presence and now two weeks on shes just as crazy as they are. It means theres always some-one to play with it two are active but the other wants to rest. Not sure if they're particularly good role models though as they're teaching her so many bad yorkie things, but her potty training is comming along great as she follows them outside and copies them. |

| My yorkie came into the house with a dog all ready here. However I have a friend who got her yorkie from the same breeder and he is a only dog. He comes over and is all to happy to have that company. I think that yorkies are just generally happy to have a companion (as long as its not a cat lol) |

| Everyone told us (vet and breeder) that male/female makes the best combination for novice mutiple dog households. But they would need to be neutered/spayed. |

| Cooper's birthday is 5/27 and I'm getting more and more serious about getting him a sister. Oh gosh, any other "bringing a second dog home" experiences would be really helpful! So far i think i need a female dog as Cooper is male.

| I think girl and boy make a great combo! I got Lola and already had a medium breed dog in the house, she had no choice put to settle in. At last she was scared but eventually claimed queen position After months and months of having the two I decided another yorkie would be a terrific idea for Lola to have a buddy! So for Christmas we got Zach and he is just the best thing that happen to us! Our dog family is complete! Lola and Zach are best of friends and I don't think they would know what to do without each other |

I really don't think that you can go wrong with getting another. Plus, they keep each other company while you are away.

| It's a good age in my opinion to bring a new one home. I BRIEFLY entertained the idea of getting two new ones but quickly dismissed it bcs I wanted to soak up ALL of Precious. But maybe in a year or two I'll adopt a rescue.

| Roxie was the only child for 2 1/2 years. My husband surprised us with Ryder and although he wasnt what I expected he has a special place within our family. It took sometime for Roxie to adjust to the changes but since having Ryder we also added another and it has been a great experience!
