But I've changed my mind on getting another dog for now. I already know I'm not going to be able to replace him. I think I should give that time. Him disappearing like he did, did scar my heart. So, it's better if I let that heal a little first. Especially since he's still not here. |

I sure hope you get good doggie karma. This little guy may just get a great search pal. And it may open doors of searching that you didn't think of before. Try calling around to the vets offices w/i a radius of your home and leave the info with them and check to see if anyone reported one also. |

That's true. I know i shouldn't assume like that. Its just a little strange how ppl always need to "re-home" puppies on craigslist, since it wasn't that long ago that they got her. But what you said makes sense too. I know that was wrong of me to say when i really don't know. :( |
I have tried to follow this thread, but it sometimes gets ahead of me, and I miss some posts. Christinee - I am so sorry your baby's not home yet, and I pray its just a matter of time before he'll be happily back home. I did have a thought and it may be a good one or maybe not, and maybe it's already been suggested, but since these people know who you are do you have someone that is in your general location, but that could not be linked to you, that could put a "wanted" ad in the paper. Kind of like someone who would like to adopt a Yorkie, and mention that they would not necessarily be interested in a puppy due to a work schedule or something of that nature, but would prefer a little older baby. Looking for a pet - that "papers" were not an issue. I don't know - it's just a thought.....I think about you every day, I can't imagine the agony you're going through. I pray everything works out like it's supposed to and he'll be home soon! |
What the heck is a "rehoming fee"? I understand rescues charging adoption fees- most of them put in lots of time and money getting babies healthy, neutered etc. But a single person doing it just seems fishy to me. DamSweet- that's an interesting idea! |

But yes is a great idea about the paper. I'll look into it ... thx :) |
You would think I'd be positive, but a wecond opinion always helps...... This couldn[t be him could it. Sometimes pictures are hard to tell. The only thing I know is he is not 4lbs. He is just over 5lbs. I don't know.... a girl on craigslist emailed this to me with the title "is this your dog?" Yorkshire Terrier |

Nah..... it doesn't really look like thim though. |
Benjamin could have lost weight if he has been in the streets for a while. It's worth a shot. I think everything is worth a shot. I'm shocked at the amount of CL postings in LA for yorkies. |

This post makes me so emotional about your poor little dog out there lost somewhere. And what someone else said is right - someone finds a dog that's been missing for 3 weeks and he is in bad condition from being out there alone and they immediately think he is neglected. Christine, follow up each and every lead - although with the way people are acting out there you could have a collection of lost dogs by the ned of it! Thank you for helping out Mr. Silky and I hope he is re-united with his family and Benjamin is re-united with you soon. I am a firm believer in playing people at their own games, so if you have to be a little sneaky to get whoever has him to give him back to you then do it. Place that ad looking for an older Yorkie male and see what happens. you can only try. My internet wouldnt open up that picture of the dog so i cant give an opinion of what i think but he could look very different in 3 weeks. Years ago I lost my Jack Russell and found him 3 days later when someone took him to the vet and I had left a notice. I was lucky because he never had his collar on and wasnt microchipped yet. But when i saw him in the corner looking all scared and people huddling around him, I had this sinking feeling that he wasnt my dog when he actually was. his markings were of course distinct but in my head I was so convinced I would never see him again that my eyes and mind played tricks on me and I told the lady he wasnt mine. my emotions got in the way of reality and for a moment I never recognised him at all :( and she just put her arm around me and said "yes he is now go get him he needs you". If anything, it was him that recognised me. He looked different. he was dirty and had lost a little weight and even with those distinct markings he seemed a different dog after running the streets for a few days. I know how my yorkie looks when she is clean or when she has had a good days worth of digging and her coat is messy. So check out every possibility. |

Wow. I have just spent the last hour reading this thread - much of it throught tears as I clicked on each new page hoping for the return of Benjamin. Christine, I am so sorry for your loss and pray for Benjamin's safe return. |
