Some of the same people on this thread I seen on the Cookie thread, Yoshi thread, Christinee thread, and also Shanatink's thread praying they would get their missing pups back. I ask you all how this is any different? After 1 day and no vet visit she was given away. Gen thought at one point someone might have Cookie and everyone was calling out the National Guard. Chrisitnee said someone in a Camero picked up her dog and people are telling her to call the police. Chloe was picked up on the side of the road and everyone was hoping that Shana would get a call and Chloe would be home. Here a dog is found and given away. What would have happened if the person that found Chloe decided to just give her away? ![]() My 3 got out of the yard a couple of weeks ago. They were gone for less then 1 hr and looked like orphans. Pebbles was inside a car and was cowering but I know it was because she is afraid~I am an excellent pet owner. Why is this different? It was only AFTER the new "owner" took her to a vet that it was discovered a breeder had rehomed her. The owners have not been found. Everyone assumes it is because they are bad pet owners? What if they moved or changed their number? I still think this is HORRIBLE and I am still haunted by this thread and keep thinking back on all of the other lost pups and if this is what happened to them. ![]()

Well said Carol.... thank goodness for you and others who do not judge harshly and jump to conclusons. I hope this thread is not closed, why should it be, some of us would love to be kept updated. Perhaps it could just be moved to another section? I think the OP has done the very best for this particular baby and in these particular circumstances ![]()

| ![]() I have got to the stage now, where if I ever find a lost dog, this is the last place I would ask for advice, I thought this site was supposed to be friendly and helpful but with this thread all I see is bitching, its totally awful. The dog in question has not died, its getting healthier by the day and they are still looking for its owners, so what is the bloody problem and to end this post, I am glad she is keeping us up todate with her progress

| ![]() you know, my experiemce so far with this site is, there are a few members who strike me as fanatics and nothing anyone does or says suits them. this lady took in a sick dog - she found someone to give it the care she obviously did not have the time to do and you are berating her because she didn't follow "the rules"? come on... |

I agree get off the bashing....Mommmafina keep us posted...ignore the others!!!! There is an Ignore button on Farmtown where you can get rid of people who keep berating others....What you did was great!!! And none of these folks were there in your shoes...and even if they would have done it different...it would still have been good...we all have the way we handle thiings and we are probably all right at the time....Stop the judging your not in her shoes! | |

| ![]() I have read this from the first entry until now and seriously cannot believe how rude, mean and condescending some people have been. I mean seriously - you should be ashamed of yourselves. You know who I'm talking about, those few "drama lovers." Momma - you did a great thing and please don't let those who are casting stones get to you. You did what you thought was right and you stated that you and the lady you gave the pup to have been trying to locate the owner. It is quite apparent that the owner really didn't want the pup or they would have responded after the breeder who gave her away contacted them. My guess is they found out about the heart condition and didn't want to spend the money so they let her go. Or in the alternative didn't think she was spayed and no longer wanted her because she could not be bred. Or maybe it was an older person who took her in, they passed away and the family of the owner didn't want to deal with the pup so they put her out. People are cruel to animals even when we look at our babies and think "how could anyone be so cruel?" believe me, they are out there. So, I give you big kudos for taking this baby in and helping her find a loving home.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() If it were one of my babies that got out I would rather have them being taken care of by a lady then at Animal Control where they may be PTS. Many of the other lost dogs on here were also picked up by caring people and they kept them until the owners were found. I am guessing at this point no owners will come forward and this baby is in her new home getting better and getting loved rather than sitting in a cage at a shelter. I volunteer at a no kill shelter in the Animal Health Dept and you would not believe how many cats and dogs get turned in for health reasons or the "owners" just leave them in a crate by the back door or lately they are just letting them run loose by the shelter. With the small ones they try and get them into a foster home as soon as they are out of quarantine. So in my opinion this little one is in the best place for now.

She could not care for this dog as long as she thought she could. Someone came along that she felt could care for this baby better than she could. She has kept in touch with her very well. No matter who has done what they ARE STILL looking for the owner of her. She did not give the dog away she let someone do the things she didnt have time to do. If nobody claims the dog then she is settled into a caring home. She might have said she was going to do one thing but done another but we all dont always do everything we want or say we are going to do. We are HUMAN!! The good thing is the dog is cared for!! To the OP thanks for all the updates keep them coming. Have you tried to call the breeder back to see if they have got ahold of the other person?

| ![]() Just wondering, is it posted anywhere on this site the proper steps to take when someone finds a dog ? If not there should be. The mess that has occurred in this thread could have been prevented if it were . Most people don't know the proper and legal steps to take or even that they have options or that Yes there are Legal steps that must be made. It's actually very simple , you run an add in the news paper in the lost/found section and there is no charge to the party running the found add. Also you contact your local shelter and report that you have the dog, this does not mean that you have to turn the dog over to the shelter but that you give them the description of the dog and your phone number for contact if the owner is looking for it. There is a legal time limit to hold the dog before you can keep it ir give it away because it is not yours yet to keep or give away till that time has been met. The time limit can very from state to state and normally your local shelter can tell you what the time limit is and if they can't then the local Police Dept can. ![]() |

| ![]() I can see a clear line here...some of you are so rude! Why can you not put what you have to say into kinder words? Sure, you don't agree with the OP's decisions, but I can for sure see why they were made. She did the best thing she could think of for this animal's health and safety. From what I can tell, she's kept up on this dog, making sure she gets everything she needs. Just because someone didn't do something the way you did it doesn't make it wrong. Seriously - that's the wonderful thing about all of us being unique - we are capable of making different choices! If you guys feel that the post needs to be deleted, how about if you just leave? Seriously, if it makes you SO angry that you just have to be so harsh, it would be doing you and everyone else a favor if you just didn't visit this thread anymore.
