"Most" contracts state that if the purchased pup is then transfered again to the 3rd party that then the contract is Void. I have also seen breeders sell dogs like this "as is" , as you all are saying....because they themselves did not breed the said dog.

I am just stating what I have seen out there...so don't get on me for stating what is out there.

Being well known isn't the same as being reputable.

Never said it was..but many on this board are led to believe that if a breeder shows, or is a member of the YTCA...they are reputable. This is just not the case.

This breeder is selling the puppy "as is", no reputable breeder would ever say that, and I believe this breeder knows of some problem.

First off..she is not the breeder...and I thought I read that she offered to get the puppy health checked prior to selling her. Someone correct me if I am wrong.


The initial $500.00 isn't much, but one health problem will substantially raise the price, to say nothing of the emotional investments.

As already mentioned..that can happen with any puppy from any breeder. For the sake of the puppy...insurance or being finacially stable to take care of her should a problem arise would certainly be expected of anyone adopting a puppy.

To the OP, someone suggested insurance, but most insurance companies would not cover existing conditions. If you are on a budget, this is a very risky purchase. I agree with those who say go to a legitmate rescue, you will know what health risks you might face.

Yes...OP please do walk away. Lets leave this little girl to be purchased by someone who's only concern is how cheap she is and how many puppies she will have in the next few years.

The fact of the matter is...if she doesn't go to a good pet home...this puppy will end up in the hands of a money breeder at that price. But that is ok...right Nancy? At least it will help create more badly bred parti's for you to complain about!!

As far as health problems...you take that chance with any dog/puppy you buy, adopt, or find. You have to be prepared finacially for any type of medical problems or emergencies. They could occur at anytime in the life of a dog from the moment you bring that dog home...especially a yorkie who is well known for the possible developement of many serious health problems.

I know a few people (some on this very board) who have purchased dogs for much more $...from people who show thier yorkies, and who led many to believe they were reputable breeders. They have many serious problems with their yorkies and never expected it. And no help was offered by these breeders. It happens in all levels of breeders. From the very top...all the way down to the puppymills.

If you were wanting to breed this dog...then please look else where. She is a cute pet. Nothing more...nothing less. And IMO...she diserves a good home just like all the dogs produced by reputable breeders and all the dogs in rescue's and shelters.

And I believe what happened...the original breeder owed another a puppy from her litter. Perhaps she used her stud, perhaps it was part of her contract when she sold her a female. This would be how the 2nd breeder got her and she, in turn, sold her. It's not that unusual a situation.

I agree as well. Most don't understand what happens in the 'breeder" world nor would they ever understand it. I've seen this happen all the time as well. I don't think its unusual either.

I've read a lot of parti threads, and I have NEVER read of someone ever suggesting that any dog is not WORTHY of a good home. I can't believe you are even suggesting this. I don't recommend supporting good breeders because you get a BETTER dog, I recommend supporting reputable breeders because the future of the Yorkshire terrier lies in their hands. All dogs are worthy of love, no matter what they look like or how sick they are, this isn't about the dog it's about the breeder. We should never "rescue" a dog from a poor breeder, they will just continue to breed more dogs. You have no way of knowing whether this is a rehome or a breeder selling it. She has made it clear the dog will be sold "as is". Many breeders will take $500.00 for a dog, the price alone doesn't say much. The OP should know that when buying a dog like this, it could end up costing much more than the original purchase price. I always suggest going to reputable breeders or rescues, where you are somewhat protected. I've read many rehoming threads because the owner couldn't pay for the cost of surgeries for Liver Shunt or Luxating Patella, this is what's really sad. My answers have nothing to do with what the dog looks like.

It doesn't matter who is involved at this point. This puppy needs a home before someone bad gets her. The owner is willing to have her vet checked before selling her. She is reasonably priced. Why shouldn't the OP go meet the puppy and possibly fall in love?

As you see from my previous posts I encouraged her to visit the home, and have a vet check.

I think it's important to always remind people that a bargain dog can end up costing a bundle. The OP already has two dogs, and I believe in warning people of potential problems. The person selling these dogs, is selling other breeding dogs. I believe she is very aware of a problem with this dog, and she's depending on someone to fall in love with it. A puppy should never be purchased through emotions, unless you have plenty of money. You have to make sure you can financially afford to take care of it, should a problem arise. I'm actually surprised breeders aren't also encouraging her to be careful.

You have done it a couple times in this thread alone! Did you or did you not advise the OP to go to a reputable breeder or a rescue? In that sense..you are telling her to turn her back on this puppy just because you feel she was irresponsibly bred. Because in your beliefs...no responsible breeder would breed a parti.
Well, I hate to break the news to ya...but 100% of the yorkies in rescue were irresponsibly bred too, and cost about the same as this puppy! What makes them more disserving of a home with the OP? Their color?

I might ad that getting a dog from a yorkie rescue is near impossible if you have a job, other dogs, children, Or a caring heart.
