| ![]() Nancy, I think you might be thinking of this old tread below. This is what encouraged me to joing here and post mine as well. I pulled it up on a google search some how but noticed it was a couple years back. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ed-yorkie.html They seem to have the same thing going on too. So I have written members: toto2 Aumbstore rebeccag And the reason for the DNA test is just to have a leg to stand on. Just as an ensight of having proof she is mixed or in fact she is just a genetic difference. I would hate to call the breeder a liar without proof. I guess it's just the principal of the matter. ![]() |

| ![]() She looks just like my Daisy's littermates. THey all had short hair but in the Yorkie puppy colors. Mine was the only one that had solid tan and she reminds me of a deer. Maybe this will help for comparison as far as ears and facial features. Daisy resembles her Chi side way more than the Yorkie side. HOwever she has not shed a lick, so maybe I will get lucky. Her parents are Yorkie Mom and Chi Dad. THe vet is also amazed at how soft she is. She is a great furbaby. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | ![]() Do you know if the breeder has chi's? It is possible that if your baby is mixed, that both a yorkie and a chi bred with her resulting in your little baby, and her siblings being from the Yorkie. Just a thought if she does have Chi's as well. she sure is cute!!! ![]() |

So there is a chance that Pixie could be purebred just not weel bred and very "odd" like I said? I'm basically lost on the whole matter and I guess I just want someone in my corner telling me I'm not too crazy. Like they always say... "Anything is Possible!"

Your Daisy is a doll!! We have an older larger dog named Dayzee that we have had for over 6years now. We always say she was mated by a deer, too. *LoL* She is just a mutt but a very odd mix, super wonderful, smart dog though. She has the tall standing pointing ears, her tail curls up, she is very sleek and lean, (but here is where the deer comes into play) her super jumping. She can be laying down and will just spring right up. No run and jump, just springs in her feet. She stands on all 4s at right about below the knee and can jump up to over 6 ft. It's always funny just to watch her jump. When she was little she was very super active through the years she has become more mellow. You never hear anythign out of her until a stranger shows up or someone knocks on the door then she sounds just vicious. Which is followed by a huge wagging tail and excitment in her eyes to be petted, once our friends make it in the door and she realizes who they are usually. *LoL*

A dog breed is a manmade thing, just a mixture of recessive and dominant genes. A careful breeder tries to manipulate these genes, so that the puppies she produces has many of the qualities of standard, but its very difficult to produce all of the qualities of standard, and sometimes a dog just comes out looking the way it wants to look! ![]()

I know people have bad bones. This woman seemed pretty honest and in this small of a town if you make one mistake the whole world finds out and you are done for. I know I'm giving her a HUGE benefit of the doubt but I'm seriously starting to think my dog just picked up a very bad gene. It could be possible Pixie has super slow hair growth and by the time she is a year old she might have a thicker coat like a regular yorkie would (at 4 months of age.)

| ![]() I do want to thank everyone else for their opinions, comments, and being adults over the matter and not being rude. I know everything is based on opinions and I was ready to hear some major slander and for that I'm thankful as well. ![]() You all have very beautiful yorkies and mixes. I know your dogs are all super lucky to have caring loving parents such as yourself. Have a very blessed day! |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | ![]() From her pictures it's evident Pixie is a chi/yorkie mix. At this point it doesn't matter...you love her...which unfortunately is exactly what your breeder hoped would happen.

| ![]() She is a doll baby and I am going against the grain here - I think she is purebred yorkie but may be what they call a blue puppy. I know there are links here about blue puppies and its basically the pups are born looking blue and lose their hair. Although Pixie looks more chocolate to me.... so not sure but can't wait to see what the DNA tests show.

| ![]() With your yorkie being a runt, and sick, her amunine system isn't up to par. Those things will effect her hair growth. Just like when woman are Pregnant, there hair will thin out. The body is stressed, putting everything into growing a baby. That is the way with a sick runt. They are usually behind on development any way, without being sick. Good luck with her.

| ![]() I have a yorkie/chi mix and she looks similar. Big ears, same coloring, short fur instead of yorkie hair. Mine is part long-haird chi though so her fur grew out a little bit but nothing like the hair yorkies have. |
