A dog breed is a manmade thing, just a mixture of recessive and dominant genes. A careful breeder tries to manipulate these genes, so that the puppies she produces has many of the qualities of standard, but its very difficult to produce all of the qualities of standard, and sometimes a dog just comes out looking the way it wants to look!  |
