I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I liked docked tails, especially on some breeds. I think it can be safe and painless, if done in the proper manner, although I do wish there were more regulations or I could convince people not to support backyard breeders and puppy mills.

| I like a docked tail on a yorkie so I'm sorry I don't support your cause or opinion. Respectfully, Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

| I also like the docked tail. My two little ones will be going to the vet in the morning to have the procedure done, also the dew claws removed. From my experience with previous litters, it's over very quickly and they barely whimper, seem more upset over being disturbed and taken away from mom for those few minutes |

| Yes, sometimes they do, but they also whimper when I move them away from mom to change the bedding, to weigh them, etc. And it is necessary here to do it to comply with the AKC standard and my pups will be registered with AKC. All my adult yorkies have docked tails, so that is how I want my puppies to look. Now, I have seen some videos of someone docking their own pups, which I thought was terrible. The puppies were crying and obviously it was painful for them. I do not advocate that at all. When my vet does it, he knows what he is doing and I don't believe it is all the bad, but that is JMO. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think that she may be saying that she better hold some things back, we can't just say what ever we want here!

Certainly didn't mean to offend anyone who does dock they own at all! I just know I couldn't do it myself, but wouldn't hesitate to ask a breeder friend with experience to do it for me. | |
