| ![]() What i did at the end of the day is search on the internet and got the baking soda trick and vinegar on there. For the vinegar solution i used 1/2 vinegar 1/2 warm water depending on the size of the carpet and obviously the stain. i sprinkled the mixture on the carpet until it was wet but not soaking wet. Next i took the broom and went over the wet area for the solution to spread right through to the fibers of the carpet. Left if for about 15 minutes and luckily my boyfriend has a carpet cleaning business so we used the machine to soak out all of the vinegar solution. You can however soak it up with a towel. The carpet was sill a bit damp but only like 20%. Sucked out about 80% of the solutions. Then i sprinkled the baking soda over the carpet. Left it there for the whole of the night and just vacuumed the carpet the next morning. The stain and smell is gone. So I'd say it definitely worked for me. I have to also add that i have very light cream carpets and the stains hasn't come back as yet. Good luck to all that has the same problem I know it is very frustrating. Thank you for all the helpful comments.

| ![]() I have always used Nature's Miracle too and was so pleased with it. Especially when I would find a dark dried area that my Maddie had hidden for me (I didn't see it when wet, and it dried gold color on my light carpet). Nature's Miracle always removed the stain. Imagine my surprise when I was smelling urine in a bedroom but couldn't find any spots due to the carpet color. Got a blacklight flashlight and found the spot right away. For grins, I used it on my light colored carpet also and almost croaked when I saw all the "glowing" spots. With the lights on, you couldn't see anything except clean carpt. With the flashlight it looked like we had stepped on little glowing aliens everywhere! So, while Nature's Miracle may "clean" the stain, and neutralize the odor, it evidently doesn't "clean" everything. Something still glows. I am having my carpet cleaned! |

We bought the black light too, and you will find that if you spray the little spots, and give it time, they will disappear. It takes time for the enzymes to actually eat the protein. We had a neighbor's cat come in a spray in the house; it was the most horrible odor, yet we couldn't find the exact spot. We used the black light to detect the spot, and it took about 4-6 doses of Nature's Miracle to completely eradicate the odor and spot, that was only visible with a black light.

thanks, I am going to give that a try until I can get the carpet cleaned. I think most of the spots are from when she was first brought home and too "cute" for the kids to keep a close eye on. most are really small spots, but they definately glow! | |

![]() I got mine from Pet Smart, it's called "Stink Finder", the cat urine was a real emergency; using our noses to find the source was just too difficult! You can probably find them at home improvement stores; just look for an ultra-violet light or commonly called a black light.

YT Addict | ![]() you know the clorox that you can clean your counter's with they even advertise that you can spray it right on a baby's high chair, well this is what i use on my carpet works great! I have a lite yellowish carpet in the living room and off white berber in the bedrooms and it works great I just spray it on direct out of the bottle and clean with a wet washcloth. works for me, he does not got back to these spots, we are still in training too what fun! I think the name is clorox anywhere |

| ![]() I have a blacklight bulb that we had from halloween. If I just put this in a regular small lamp and went around shining it on the floor, it will show urine stains? |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() Probably, let us know what you find. Check the bathroom, around the toilet; especially if there are males living in the house, it might gross you out! Remember it will show up urine, blood, vomit, and feces. I think it might show up pet dander too, as that contains a protein.
