| Pomeranian Dropped By Owl Did any of you see this story on the news yesterday: ohmidog! Owl takes dog on a two-mile flight This made me cry. I was so thankful the little Pomeranian was dropped and is alive. This is just another reminder that we should never leave our small babies outside alone. Of course in the case of this little dog, the dog got frightened and ran away, another reason to always keep your dog on a leash. Can you imagine the terror the poor little dog felt being carried nearly two miles in the air. So scary. |

| I saw that story. Freaked me out! We have a blue herron that swoops down in our yard to get to the fish pond, so I never let my boy go out alone. |

| Wow, that is scary and the dog is so lucky. Glad it was a happy ending. And this story is a great reminder. I hear the owls all the time when I take my dogs out for a potty break after dark. We also have large hawks and coyotes for daytime danger. We never could keep cats and kittens around and we always gave the coyotes, bobcats, owls, and hawks credit for that.

| I don't understand why the rescuer would take the dog home, give it a bath, and then take it to bed with her instead of taking the dog to be checked out at a vet! It had a broken tail and who knows what else. The dog went though a terrible trauma and then has to lie in pain all night! Glad the lady saved the dog, don't get me wrong. But seems she didn't use the best judgement in getting the dog some help afterward. |

| My husbands sister lives in Harlan Ky. We seen a hawk come down and pick up her cat. You can see three stories from the front of her house. 1st is the basement 2nd is where the rocking chairs are. She(cat) was in the yard (basement level) and we were sitting in the rocking chairs on the 2nd. Hawk picked up her and got up to about the roof, which would have been 3 levels, and some how the cat got loose. The cat was not hurt but from that day on, our girls never go outside if they are not on a leash.

| That's my big fear! That's why my girls don't go outside by themselves but even then, I'm scared! And to make matters worse, a hawk swooped down into my back yard and grabbed what I think was a small bird. I just sorta saw it out of the corner of my eye. We ran out back and tried to scare it but it just took off with whatever it had in it's talons. This particular hawk was pretty small but still.... If I was really creative, I would come up with some sort of invention that we could put on our pups so that hawks or owls got a shock when they tried to grab them..... |

| I just had to come back and tell you guys how freaked out I am by this! I just took Zoe out to go potty before bedtime and I know she is looking for a spot to go poop and sometimes it takes her a few minutes and I'm standing out there and it's very dark out and very cold and the wind is whipping thru the trees and I'm standing there thinking "What if it's not the wind whipping but an owl there swooping down" and I'm out there with her but a few feet away and she's wandering looking for a good spot. Needless to say, I made her come in. I will have to work up the nerve to take her out again or I'll have an accident to clean up and it will only be my own fault. And the worst part is, I have never seen an owl around here. But then again, if they are only out at night, maybe that's why. I think I'm going to need to invest in a covered kennel.... |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I have to really watch Ares here! I finally put a leash on him and tried walking him and lo and behold... A hawk circling!!! I ran put him in the house along with my boxer Tank... I had to run over to my neighbor's! She had her maltipoo outside just tied up in the yard!!! The hawk was circling over her garage!!! She said happy someone told her about the hawks! Our vet said 2 yorkies, a pom, and 4 cats in our area were taking by birds of prey!!! Scary stuff so needless to say is I walk looking up any time Ares goes for a walk!!!

| Moka likes to go out on the boat fishing with her daddy. I snapped this picture one day as this vulture came in for a closer look! Moka likes to look out over the front of the boat and the birds will routinely come in and take a closer look at her. Good thing they like dead creatures instead! I also added a hawk picture that was close by. They will snag a pet very fast!
