| Poor Peanut! One of Peanut's brothers picks on him a lot! He cries and I don't blame him! Should I put Peanut in another crate when I'm not right where I can see them? I don't like him getting his little ears bitten!

| Gosh, I don't know. Dogs (did I say the d-word? are pack animals and generally they need to work out their issues - BUT if Peanut is being hurt and you feel that he is not safe or is unnecessarily traumatized, then I would move him. Think like his d-mom - what would she do - would she let one of her pups injure another one? I don't know for sure, but I would think at some point, she would intervene.

Funny you should mention that. Mollie loves to bite and tug on Wyatt's ears. She use to do the same thing to some lab puppies that we were selling when we first got her last spring. We would be outside and she would have them crying and they were 2 - 3 times her size at 6 weeks and her 10 weeks.

| AAWWW Poor little Peanut. I'm no expert, but I would probably have a tendency to separate the troublemaker from the pack. I dunno...I hope you find a solution. Any more pics? |

| If peanut is really getting hurt I would seperate them. But I would still put him with the others when you are right there to keep an eye on them. |

| Not sure what ages your pups are, nor how much crate time they have. I have two female, 6 months apart. Chloe outweighs Lacey by 4 lbs but Lacey can give her a fit sometimes. She'll pull on her ears, tail, legs, you name it and Chloe will put up with it a lot but at night, they go to their own separate crate, side by side until morning. Not only do they like their own private time, but they enjoy each other much more during the day. I also use timeout, when things get too rough, which honestly works. During the day each crate has the door open unless one or both misbehaves and then I put one or both in her crate with the door closed and ignore her for a few minutes. Then, they can come out if they behave. They actually know when I use the word timeout. So, try it, you might find it works for you. |

| Poor little Peanut My two boys pups, bailey and charlie, go at it sometimes and the two of them sound like a pack of wolves Little Charlie, the smallest, likes to pick on Bailey who is only a little bit bigger but is much more shy and timid than Charlie. I think it's good to let them work out thier issues and I do most of the time, but when it continues for more than a few minutes, and it looks or sounds like there is pain involved, sometime Charlie is relentless, I'll break them up and distract them both with a toy or something, then usually they forget they are fighting and continue to just play. Is Peanut yelping like his little brother is hurting him? Even when they play and are having fun it looks rough to me, but I've learned when one of them is stressed, usually Bailey, and separate them if only for a few minutes. They aren't haveing to be broken up now near as much as they used to be. Charlie is the fiestiest but he is a little whiney cry baby when he wants attention

| Here's another thought that I forgot to mention: When Bitsy sees the puppies fighting too rough, she aggressively barks and gets in between them and breaks it up....works everytime when she does it!!! You could always get in the pen on all fours and bark like a dog and see if that works If you do...I'd like to see a picture please

| while you are not there to supervise, maybe you could put Peanut in a different crate but keep it next to her brothers so she can see them . |

| when my pups would get agressive with eachother the mom would scold them.. since you have no mom around you will have to do this... how? I don't know.. .but I wonder if you take peanut out of the situation if it will make him submissive or not able to defend himself... my mom would grab the "naughty" pup by the scruff of the neck, can you do this and maybe say "no bite" in a stern voice? and move the "naughty" pup away? this is a tough one, have you been able to find anything on the net about surrogate puppy moms or something like that? I kept one pup, and my mom still scolds her... if she runs to the side of the house she goes after her grabbing her scruff, holding her down... the pup is almost 5 months old. Good luck, I wish I could help more edited to add, we have a fenced in yard, but I don't like the dogs to run to the side where I can't see them. |

| I am obviously no expert, but I wouldn't separate them. I think fighting w/ siblings is a part of the socialization process.
