BTW I do feel the baby is over priced, because of his issues with the open fontanal and all. I hope she lowers her price someone will take proper care, or he gets lucky and finds a good mommy despite that price tag.

While I agree with you that it does take money and time to sew (I can't sew worth crap..haha) I think $40 (for ME anyway) is too much to pay for a dress for a little dog. If you have it, and can afford to spend that much on ONE dress that's awesome. I like petedge and love long long, that sell awesome quality stuff for like $5 and I can afford that. The material is wonderful and the quality of the product is excellent. I'm sure your prices are reasonable, I don't think anyone was insulting anyone's specific prices. She was just making the point that as long as there are people willing to pay a lot for clothes and dogs and other stuff, there will always be people that will charge more if they can.

I agree. I have ordered lots of stuff from www.petedge.com and www.lovelonglong.com and I LOVE the quality of their clothes! It's incredible -- and so affordable. However, I have bought clothes before that were very expensive -- $75 +. Would I do it again? Probably, if I really loved the shirt/dress. But I would prefer to spend less money if possible.

Most Yorkie Talkers are VERY welcoming! Including many of the people that have commented negatively toward this original post. I feel that posts such as these can be helpful. There are different opinions and ways of expressing them but its a discussion that some new AND old members can learn from. If a new member were to read this thread I don't think it would make them run away. It might make a scammer think twice, though.

I will say that I dont charge forty dollars for every dress. But for like the ones I recently made I would for the simple fact between cost and time i spent at least that. In all reality for us that are small time sewers the cost is much higher than petedge, which is set up for wholesale, not generally for the public. Yes we can buy from them, but they supply many of the larger stores as well. Hence the low cost. They also have companies in which the outsource all the products they sell, meaning they arent the ones behind the sewing machine. They may have great quality, I dont know because I have not purchased from them as of yet, but my time and effort are worth what I charge. like I said I have charged a wide range for items it simply depends, I was just offended by the way she said what she did, and shows how little experiance she has had.

She had 5 people who wanted her at that price and one who offered $10,000 but she didn't take it..she sold it to the "friend" she knew for $2000 less!

She waited until he was past the real fragile young stage. I think she is right to look out for the puupy....someone who wants a guarantee that the dog will remain small want an "adult". I don't think it is a thing to criticize but rather celebrate...she is investing her time and attention and money into the dog so someone else gets a healthy well-adjusted dog guaranteed to be small.

Let's see....Intentional or not ?
My baby is 10 months old

Mother is 3.7 and dad is 2.3 lbs

My baby boy is 1-6 lbs

His is AKC and CKC reg

I am asking 8500.00 for him

I agree that some breeders have small yorkies by chance. But I also agree that too many people are out there intentionally going smaller and smaller and it's a scary thing when the price of a puppy is getting up there close to the price of a car. Scary for the PUPPIES ...scary for the Females ....and scary for the average person looking for a puppy.

And yes I have sewn dresses and yes I HAVE seen CRAPPY cheap badly made dog clothing for $40 a dress. I might also point out I have bought WELL MADE beautiful dresses with good material for $12.

I am a retired English teacher - but I can't always spell and/or type. For those of you who have a real spelling problem let me clue you in. The ability to spell is linked to a gene. You either have it or you don't! Don't sweat it - just keep a dictionary handy for the important times.

However, I too believe if you are seriously trying to sell something, the ad should be correct gramatically and the spelling should be correct also. It just looks better and doesn't open your ad up to ridicule.

Just my 2 cents, now y'all go ahead and have fun and don't worry about spelling OR typing. We can all read it.
