| This exact same thing happened to us last year. We live outside the city limits - however the county here does have leash laws. I called and the dog catcher put a note on the neighbor's door. After a few words with the neighbors, the neighbors agreed to supervise their dogs and we haven't had anymore issues. But it sounds like your neighbors are not so reasonable? If you have to have "proof" that the dog was in your yard (news to me) you can purchase a field camera which is an outdoor camera with a motion detector. Just strap it to a tree. Wal Mart has them in the hunting section. Hubby uses them all the time to track deer on the farm. If your goal is to spread-the-word about the misconduct of your neighbors - then contact the local news station - they may be interested in the story? Especially if this guy has had other bad press? Good luck!!

| All of you guys are funny!!! It does suck to have to put up with people like this - especially when they're holding a position like that. What's really irritating is that you know - that they KNOW - that their dog is doing it! I think you're going to have to try to take a picture of the dog pooping and then call animal control and tell them you are worried about your little dog when the Shepard comes into your yard - unattended. (even tho you might not be) Obviously they're not good neighbors.

| Ugh. That is so rude. I hate when I take Fergie to the park and there's heaping piles of poop from irresponsible owners. I live in Chicago, so a lot of people have bigger dogs and will sometimes just leave their "piles" on the sidewalk! It's disgusting! |

YT 500 Club Member | I agree with some of the other posts. As a public figure he should be setting an example to others. Get the proof then name and shame him. These are the people who make the laws after all so they should at least follow them. You could even warn them if they dont do something about it your going to report them to the papers. |

| It sounds like you are not going to have much success with this problem by trying to communicate with the owners; perhaps you need to go straight to 'dog aversion' techniques. Have you ever seen this product? Safe & Effective Animal Deterrents | Cat Repellent | Cat & Dog Training Aid Basically, it is a motion activated sprinkler. Not inexpensive, but very effective. Best of luck.....

| If you are around or know when he's doing it--sit at the window with a water gun(nice way) pepper spray--not so nice, but works-that's what my friend takes on her walks with her sheperds--she said you generally only have to get them once or twice and then they run away, or maybe an air horn to scare the crap outta the dog. Good luck, I'd be pissed if it was happeneing in my yard. |

| We used to live in a court. The neighbors dog loved to poop on our grass every day. We had small children at the time. My husband is soft spoken and would never be in anyone's face. One day he took the shovel, piled it high with the #2 and walked it over to the neighbors house. Where the neighbor was working in his front yard. My husband asked what should he do with this? The neighbor just looked at him, excuse me? To which my husband replied well, we don't have a dog so I am not sure what you want to do with your dog's droppings since he chooses to go on my lawn every day. The neighbor started picking up after his dog. When he forgot, my husband would move it to his lawn. |

| I have same problem!!! Our neighbor has 3 big dogs and they let their dogs run all over the neighborhood and they could care lessTheir dogs come in our yard and dig huge holes and poop everywhereSo my husband and I was outside and dh was shoveling dirt back in the holes and I seen the neighbors outside and I told him that he has to do somethng about his dogs, that they keep coming in our yard and digging huge holes and pooping all over the place. Well you wouldn't believe his responce..... He said well, kick em' when you see them doing thatI said we don't abuse dogs and wouldn't even think about hurting one like that, I told him that was awful for him to say that. He just smiled and walked away. We have told them over and over again to keep their dogs out of our yard but it goes in one ear and out the other |
