| YT Addict | Thanks for all of the great compliments and words of encouragement. I'm hoping it will grow fast. I may have to end up keeping him in a short coat because he hates the brushings but hopefully not that short next time! I guess he will save me a little money for a while because I was having him groomed about every 6 weeks. Don't guess he will need to go anytime soon...lol. AND...for the water bottle...my DH says he is never buying him another toy again...that bottle has kept him entertained for hours! |

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | OMG he looks so cute like that. He def looks good in that modified schnauzer cut. i know its a lot to take in tho when your not used to it. are you sure his face was not matted like his body which would explain why they shaved it?

| YT Addict | No, his face nor head had any mats at all....it was in great shape. His harness tends to mat him so he had some on his back and around his butt...he does not like me messing around hit butt area so I have a really hard time brushing there. I don't know if the lady just misunderstood or what. I'll be looking for a photo to take with me next time....haven't decided if I'm going to give this lady another chance or move on to someone else. Since he is shaved and all the mats are gone I'm hoping I'll be able to keep him mat free by brushing him daily. I really wish he would get use to it and enjoy it so I wouldn't have to fight him. I feel like I am being so mean having to hold him down. |

The scalp massager fit nicely into the hand, so he should potentially fear it a bit less and you can use more of a normal... petting motion. It has a softer "feel" against the skin then some brushes so it might not be as scary for him. It might serve as a nice middle ground to get him used to before the brush. | |

| He is so darn cute (or should I say handsome), but I can see your point that he doesn't look "Yorkie" right now. I also thought more Schnauzer like, as others mentioned, and regardless he is adorable. He doesn't seem to mind it a bit.

He's really cute, the exact same the thing happened to Rockie about two months ago. Of course he did have matts directly under his chin...my fault. The groomer that came to my house completely shaved him, l was not happy because it was so short. Rockies hair grows so fast, l told my daughter we just will not let his hair grow long because he has cottony hair. Your baby looks so adorable.

| You may have gotten this like 50 times, but I didn't feel like reading all the responses (I am nowhere near patient enough to read 3 pages, haha!). I think he's adorable! In my opinion, he looks like a little schauzer (sp?). I would just wait for it to grow out, then make sure he doesn't get the mats (to the best of your ability, of course). good luck to you!

| wow, did we go to the same groomer??? It sounds just like the last cut I got Gracie, she even knew how bad she looked she even tried to hide from us, I paid alot more thinking I was getting a better groomer. Its been a couple of weeks and she still is pretty short, she is almost starting to look herself again, next time I will stick to my old groomer and tell them not to shave her beard. Kellie

He looks adorable!!! A lot of yorkies get a cut like that for the summer. Since you are the mom, he probably looks totally different to you, but he is still really cute!!!!! I'm sure he loves his new look as well since grooming will be a lot easier. I love it!
