My boy's grand sire is Parti at the Ritz.
So he carries the Crownridge, Nikko's, and the Gesmundo's lines.

He also carries the golden gene.

I did see the female you had after I got this boy.
I'll have to wait awhile to get another one...So maybe next year...

My new studs great grand sire is Parti at the Ritz

I think most of Loryn's partis have golden in them I bred the traditional colored daughter, of a carrier sire, that I had gotten from Loryn, to a golden that also came from Loryn and that breeding produced two golden puppies. So the parti carrier father must have passed a golden gene to his daughter.

Congrats on your golden pups.

The Sire to my boy is a golden color too.
His sire is Parti at the Ritz and the Dam is Grownridge Gilty as Charged.
I've been meaning to contact Loryn and see if she has pics of the dam.
I've seen a few different pics of Ritz.

The only parti pup that I have gotten so far was a golden parti out of a mating between my golden stud and a parti female.

I was so thrilled.

I have one girl that I wonder if she maybe carrying a gold gene.

Thanks to all of you for a very interesting and very civil discussion about Biewers and Partis.
If I were looking in the next year for a Biewer for the purpose of conformation showing , the pedigree had Champions on both sides, would it matter if it was a Biewer x Parti? Or would I want to stay Biewer to Biewer? The Parti side would have had to had Biewers in the liniage for it to be registered Biewer though right?

I read earlier post about Mrs. Biewer. I just came across a website Biewer Terriers from Pruett's Puppy Paradise that states that Mrs. Biewer is an honorary member of the BTCA. I guess that she would have had to be involved in the breeding program after her husbands death. She may have just downsized?

The Biewers and all the different registries has always confused me.
I couldn’t tell you which one believes in what…
As there are so many clubs.

That is one of the reason I decided to go with the Parti’s.

But from what I have been able to understand.
The clubs who DO believe in breeding back to yorkies.
At least one of the parents would have to be registered through a biewer club in order for the pups to be registered through them.

Those who believe in breeding Biewer to Beiwer ONLY.
Do Not breed back to Yorkies.

I think it more of a personal choice as to what you believe when it come to the Biewer.

While neither Parti’s or Biewers can be shown through AKC.

The Parti’s can be shown through clubs such as APRI..
They would be in the same class with the standard Yorkshire Terrier..

I don't think she continued her husbands breeding program after he died.
As far as I know she no longer breeds.

What exactly constitutes a small gene pool? Seriously, I don't know this and wonder what breeders use as guide? Is there a certain number of lines going back a certain number of generations etc etc? that makes it a worthy gene pool to close stud books? How is it determined that the current gene pool is small?

I agree, breeders have a right to do whatever they want, but respectfully disagree that only breeders breeding back to American Yorkies truly care about the health and future of the breed.

We disagree on practices but I don't feel any one is trying to force breeding policies on one another. We all just want to state why we believe the way we do, I think it can be accomplished without stepping on anyones toes.

What I think many of us fell in love with is the fact that this breed is different, because they originated in Germany and have a distinct look to them and personality, etc. and many are trying to preserve that distinction by breeding only back to german lines.
It my personal opinion only that by breeding back to American Yorkies, we are changing the breed/ the look/ the disposition to an american breed, changing the look eventually of the dog we all fell in love with, not to mention adding possibly future health problems. If someone were truly wanting to keep the German Biewer Yorkshire Terrier what is is now (Werner Biewers), then anyone that is choosing to use Yorkies should be using German bred Yorkies. (personal opinion) Again, just felt a desire to add yet another opinion to the mix

I dont own biewers and it is great to keep a them german bred if that is the focus. But breeding Biewer to Biewer, What happens is if there are not enough pure biewers to begin with when they close the books , that after years and years you run out of any new blood to breed too. All the dogs will have the very same background, therefore they begin to enhance the weaknesses of the dogs.. Say for instance there were 3 times as many males born for each female for years, soon you run out. There is no way to predict the correct number.
By the Partis being a Yorkshire Terrier and AKC registered and me living in the U.S. It is easier for me to accomplish what i would like for my partis. I would someday love to show one and am intending on breeding for a show type Parti.

Good question. Who decides when the stud book closes? And how do "they" decide there are sufficient lines or individuals or whatever the requirements are to close it?
