Peanut hates me =(

When Abby was a tiny puppy I put her kennel beside the bed (on my side of the bed) and fastened the door, I was afraid that she would get out and if I got up during the night I would step on her. Then as she got a little older I left the door open and she still slept in her kennel because my husband said no dogs on the bed. Then one night he came to bed after me and put her up there and that's where she has been since. She sleeps at the foot of the bed where the comforter is folded back. If I go to bed first she lays near my head, then when my husband comes to bed she moves to the foot of the bed. My problem is, she can't get on the bed by herself so she will jump up and whine and then when I lean down to help her up, she runs backwards. It takes forever. She sleeps all night now without having to get up, if she wakes up and needs to get down she comes up and licks my face to wake me up.

Aww its okay , he dosent hate you I am sure! My Ben does the exact same thing, when he was a puppy he couldnt wait until I picked him up to get on the bed. Now that he is bigger about 6.5 lbs, he can jump on the bed if he really tries and come jump down no problem. He never wants to sleep with me, and he actually dosent even want to sleep in his own bed, he would rather big cuddled up in the clothes that I wore that day to sleep on the floor, lol

I know exactly what you are going through!!! I have 3 babies and they all sleep with me! Sometimes they will jump down and get in their bed or even the hard floor and DH hears me saying "Where is mommies babiesssssssssssssss"... This works most of the time (jealous one might get more attention than the next LOL) but sometimes it doesn't work and they are like "Whatev' cwazy do wady... We iz where we iz.. Whatcha gonna do about it"? My heart breaks!!!

Let me tell you the WORST heartbreak!!! I went to the beach and took Basil with me (girls week retreat) and left Teddy at home. He did NOT eat!!! DH had to give him chicken just to get food in him! He moped he cried he was just miserable!!! I worried about him but also was touched he missed ME SO BAD. We return from the beach and I couldn't wait to sweep him up in my arms and make him all better with MY kisses... He didn't want me... He ran right to Basil and jumped all over her giving HER love!!! I literally had tears in my eyes and told DH in a whimpy voice "I bought Basil a petttttttttttttt"... Wahhhhhhhh

Zekie does not like sleeping with me either because I move around too much to suit him. He, also, does not like to be petted when he is sleeping. He just likes to be left alone. But does he leave me alone - noooooo. They sure can be little brats sometimes, but we love them anyway.

Joey and Tank will cuddle in bed with us for about 10-20 mins depending on their moods, then they will go to the end of the bed and go to sleep. I'm not sure why they do this, but they have for quite a while now.

dont worry i have a little brat as well! He loves to sleep on the hardwood floor or on the rug, but has little to no interest with sleeping in my bed with us! I always wanted a little snuggler so I thought I might have to coax him to sleep with us. I tried the same thing, picking him up when he is passed out and putting him in bed, and it didn't work! he just got up and went back to a new spot on the ground. He's such a dork! But its pretty funny because during the day he always takes his naps on the bed.. go figure Even when i pet him or get to close to him when hes sleeping he gets up and moves across the room. ahh gotta love him though

resort to that! I have a set of steps that Baxter uses to get up and down. I've been wanting a set of drawers around the bottom of the bed anyway and that would be the perfect height for a platform to set just the mattress on and jettison the box spring. Furkids, couldn't escape under and it would be not so far off the ground. Then fluffy rug around...could eliminate the pesky steps. hmm, remodeling and reconstruction just for the dogs? of course!!! May need a lift to get the old people up off the bed from that low. That'll be another thread..lol

not my peanut i swear him and denzel are long lost cousins. I havent been on in two days (but who's counting) anyway denzel doesn't sleep next to me anymore and i would get mad because he dumped me and curls up next to my boyfriend or goes to the end of the bed. I don't know who he think he is im his mama haha but now he's back on mama's side in the middle i think it was a phase he was going through. I also think it was something else i don't want to be gross but when my cousin comes to visit me every month. denzel won't even let me pick him up he acts like he's grossed out. He's been doing that for about 3 months. But even at times he don't want to sleep next to me. Idk why

LOL, I highly recommend it. We didn't cut it all the way down like a platform. We just cut it low enough to where if they fall, it won't be soooo far. Ralphie jumps off sometimes, and even though it isn't that far and we have a really thick shag rug, it just makes me cringe . Now little Agnes, she won't even take a step down that is one inch. She knows she is little and she lets mommy do all the work...thank God.

I do think a modern platform bed would be ideal for having pets in the bed. I just hated to part with the one we had so we improvised .

uses the stairs, but he is old enough to know his limitations, and if bear is sleeping near the steps and he is afraid of disturbing him, he will whine enough to wake me up so I have to physically lift him down past the steps and bear so he can tippy toe off to wherever, rather than jump the distance... I think I'll do the platform with drawers under...thanks for the confirm. We have actually accidentally kicked cats off the foot of the bed in the dead of the night and that is what I am afraid of with the girls.

Haha oh wow that's what Teddy does to me! If I'm mving or try to move him a little he will readjust, lay down and then sigh like it was such a hassle that I made him do that. Yorkies have so much personality it's not even funny!

That is exactly what Bailey would do. It annoyed me so much because even though she couldn't get up, she had no problem jumping off. So she'd play that little game for 10 minutes until I managed to get her onto the bed, and then she'd jump off and do it all again!

I just bought the "Deluxe Doggy Steps" and it was such a good investment. Now if she jumps off I can go back to sleep and I know she can get back up when she feels like it. (Although she gets up and jumps all over my head because she doesn't wanna let mommy sleep when she wants to play. )

Fozzy is his competition. He lays right beside my head. There have been nights that he has laid on my head. He is so bad that he would rather be cold than move away from his favorite spot. He just got a haircut and he actually shivers because I can't keep him covered when he is laying beside my head.
