LOL, I highly recommend it. We didn't cut it all the way down like a platform. We just cut it low enough to where if they fall, it won't be soooo far. Ralphie jumps off sometimes, and even though it isn't that far and we have a really thick shag rug, it just makes me cringe . Now little Agnes, she won't even take a step down that is one inch. She knows she is little and she lets mommy do all the work...thank God.

I do think a modern platform bed would be ideal for having pets in the bed. I just hated to part with the one we had so we improvised .
