He looks like a yorkie, some people are just very un-educated... they try to feel superior by saying ridiculous stuff... i have a yorkie with a wire coat and he is adorable and people who are familiar with the breed always know he is a yorkie, but i get lots of snide people who also try to imply things like he is not pure bred or that something is "wrong" with him. It upsets me too because he is pure bred and he is beautiful. he has the most beautiful colors and markings his hair just is wiry so it doesn't grow long and beautiful like most yorkies. anyways now that I ranted... LOL.

He is an ADORABLE YORKIE, and anyone who doesn't see that right away needs their eyes (& head) examined.

MSCAT brings up a good point, you have to be soooo careful with exposure to diseases until he's had all his vaccinations. My vet told me to wait until after 16 weeks (and 4 shots) to let my new pups even put their feet down outside my house.

Your baby is sooooooooooooo a yorkie! You have to remember, not everyone has had a yorkie so they assume a puppy should look like the show dogs they see on a magazine! They don't realize their colors change and their hair grows! I would say "What exact breed does he look like"??? I bet they wont e able to come up with a breed he looks like. They are just ignorant when it comes to what breeds look like. Just like I would be ignorant if you asked me what a puppy wasthat I was not familiar with

I agree. I remember the first time I saw a yorkie puppy....I was like..."yeah right." But when I witnessed the transformation from puppy to adult, I WAS AMAZED!!! Both of your babies are 100% beautiful yorkies.

Oh gosh!!!! He has had 3 sets of shots, but not 4!!! I am such a bad mommy!!! Thank you for informing me.

Your not a bad yorkie mommy. It is just very important to be aware of these things , because vet costs of a sick baby are extremely high, and then their still is a chance that the pup will not make it .

Bentely is a beauty . I have a little one that I can't wait to finish her vaccines ! I can't even let my 18 month old Yorkie out , for fear that she will bring back something to the baby. I like to always lean on the cautious side , rather then take the chance of a young puppy being exposed to a bad illness .

Depending on his age, and the age the first shot was given, 3 may be all that is required. My vet said since my pups got their first at 6 weeks, and since parvo is really bad here that they upped the recommendation HERE to 4 shots to carry them past the 16 week age. Last year, they only required 3 shots for my other two pups.

Anyway, glad your baby is covered, and sounds like you are both having some fun! Best of luck with that cutie!

Yes, your correct, at 6 weeks, the first shot did not do any good . Because at that age the puppy still may have had immunity from it's mother . My vet has told me the same thing, therefor we started over on the vaccines , with both puppies. The Rabies vaccine is not to be administered until at least 4 months of age.

Luckily we don't need rabies vaccinations here; no rabies in Hawaii so far. Like you I also believe in caution with the babies. I only take them out in an enclosed Sherpa carrier, especially to the vets, where I always put my own towel or pee pad on the exam table, and I make my friends use Purelle hand sanitizer before petting them. After seeing on YT where one breeder lost most of one litter due to parvo which most likely came from the vet office, you just can't be too careful in their first tender months.

p.s he looks 100 percent yorkie and who cares what other people think especially when its negative dont you know negative people feed off of making others feel bad he is going to go through so many changes just enjoy your baby thats all thats really important
