Luckily we don't need rabies vaccinations here; no rabies in Hawaii so far. Like you I also believe in caution with the babies. I only take them out in an enclosed Sherpa carrier, especially to the vets, where I always put my own towel or pee pad on the exam table, and I make my friends use Purelle hand sanitizer before petting them. After seeing on YT where one breeder lost most of one litter due to parvo which most likely came from the vet office, you just can't be too careful in their first tender months.
