| I think that unless someone is using the term "teacup" to SELL a yorkie that we should just let it roll off our shoulders. I for one did not know about the term until I came on here. Ignorance is bliss sometimes and I see absolutely no harm in calling a yorkie a "teacup" if its just an innocent mistake and not used to market the breed. I myself don't even find it necessary to correct people when they use it. It's just a waste of my breath.

I know I keep repeating but people keep writing the same sort of thing like they are not realizing what was said and what WAS NOT said.

| Also Deb, I know what it feels like to repeat yourself over and over and over in ONE thread because people don't bother to read the WHOLE thread, so I DOUBLE apologize for adding fuel to that fire... that was very hypcritical of me

| i for one was swayed by the tcup thing until i did my research when i was getting my chihuahuas and it was used to describe very small pups in ads that "some" breeders would use to sell their pups, it happens a lot here in ireland too and is just to get more money for their pups, theamount of cxxp i listened too untill i found biancas brreder.only yesterday i was at a big outdoor market and met a lady with a very small chi, they were so proud to be calling her a toy, my husband just gave the "LOOK" not to lecture hahaha |

| callin a yorkie pup tiny or teacup isn't really a bad thing, so long as you realize that these pups aren't worth anymore money just because they are smaller than the rest. in fact, the "tiny" yorkies born are usually a runt and will have a harder life and more health problems than the standard size. so if anything they should cost the buyer less because of the added risk. as long as you aren't using the terms as a ploy to sell these little babies at ridiculous rates, you haven't done anything wrong, they are tiny and they are tea cups, they aren't however worth more money for being so small... hope that makes you feel better!! |

...she WAS NOT bred to be small she just happened to come out smaller...her parents come from good lines and were shown at Crufts here in the UK, so hopefully she has a better chance than the BYB or puppymill bred pup...The reason these so called 'Breeders' breed for tinies and call them cute names like 'Teacup' and charge alot of money is because they are desirable 'handbag' puppies and people will pay for that...I admit to wanting a tiny...but i knew where NOT to look and that the REPUTABLE Hobby Show Breeder was the way forward...you may have to wait a bit longer but they will occasionally have smaller puppies that are too small to show or breed from, then the breeder will be looking for that special caring home.

| When people tell me kacee is a cute t-cup.. I just laugh and say well there is no such word really as a t-cup... but I do think it is funny when I tell them his parents were 9 pounds each.. he is teenie and I chose the tiny one at the time thinking welll if parents are 9 pounds and I take the runt them he will be a 5-6 pound yorkie... people are shocked mostly when they are told the parents size.. Kacee at best is 3.8 pounds... and I do not get upset when he is called a tcup.... Hope you feel better on being here on yt. |
