| I take this one step further. If we are out in public with our dogs and an adult approaches them. I am very leary. I had a person come with their arms stretched out towards my dog ( who I was carrying in MY arms) and he got within a few inches of reaching for my dog and I turned my body away from him as I walked past. I don't care WHO YOU ARE! Just cause I have a cute dog doesn't give YOU the RIGHT to touch, pet, or grab MY dog!!!! especially without asking. Same thing goes for kids. just my 2 cents |

| It's fairly well known that Yorkies ... while they love to play and are very active They are not good with little kids Yorkies are not very sturdy and can be easily injured by kids who don't know their own strength also the quick and unsteady movements of kids can tune into a Yorkie's instincts .... and they might lunge and nip at them

Also, nearly EVERY adult who see's us with Curly, claims THIS is the dog they're going to get for their little ones. Some of these little ones are still in strollers and diapers. I have taken the time to warn them of the dangers when I can but I have yet to come across someone who actually knows anything about this breed. | |

Yes, I understand that not all children are going to treat a small dog in this manner. And I understand parents become very defensive in regards to their childrens behavior. However, a parent is not able to supervise a very young child all the time around a tiny yorkie. A parent says , oh I taught my child how to handle the yorkie , however a young child , does not always have the ability to comprehend at such a early age how to handle such a fraglie animal. This is why in every Yorkie Book it states that is is better not to have a yorkie in a home where their are children under 10 years old. It may even be 12 yrs old. I do not mean to be offensive in any way to those that do have young children, this is only the reccomendations.
