- Both girls were impregnated by the same sire, and he also mated with her mom's 2 dogs (who are also pregnant ).

- She has had the smaller girl for a month and a half, and the bigger girl for 5 months.

- The sire is 3.5lbs.

- The smaller girl has bad teeth (according to the letter from the vet). She said the letter also says WNO (I forgot to ask what that meant...I'm assuming it means "will not operate"??)

- She currently feeds them Purina dog chow (YUCK), and changes their food often based on what's on sale (poor little tummies).

- There were children screaming in the background...sounded very chaotic at 10:00am.

- She says she is moving and needs the money for furniture as she won't have anything, and can't wait for the puppies as it will be too far in the future.

- Of her 4 remaining dogs, 3 are currently pregnant.
Everyone is catching the way the ages keep changing on the females, yes?

Her story doesn't change much, but it does change every time. *sigh*

Think of it this way, what if every single person did the same thing? What if even every YT member would mail in donations today to a couple of the good Rescue organizations associated with other YT members? How could that expand their rescue efforts? How many more dogs could be saved, get the medical attention they need, and ultimately find their way to a great home? How many members do we have? Multiply that by even $10 or $20!!!! Wow that could make soem change!

What if every person here had written to that judge that heard the puppymill case recently? Maybe the owner would have gotten a stiffer penalty that would truly act as a deterrant! Instead, she will probably do the same thing again.

What if every single person wrote to the congressmen in each of the states that are basically without pet sales protection laws? Maybe we could get the "Chloe Bill" passed in Illinois for one. This is a "sweeping change" bill that could really make a difference! It would limit breeders to 20 unspayed/unaltered dogs and put a lot more control on the sale of dogs, pet shops and add much needed penalties! It would put stricter guidelines on pet stores providing health histories, require licensing, ban those with felony dog abuse charges from breeding dogs, and require sanitization and safety procedures for kennels (among other things!)

These ideas are not enough, but they would be a great start if more would participate. You say we have to start somewhere, I am saying this is a start. But how many are doing even this much? There are organizations and efforts underway NOW that we can support. We don't necessarily need to reinvent the wheel but we do need to PARTICIPATE!

Actually, I already said I can use some MORE ideas to help the effort and wanted to know exactly what action you are talking about. Try what? Do what? What steps? I just want to know what have you done for the cause and if it sounds workable, I will help that way too. See what I mean? You say folks may call you radical, but I am asking why? What radical ideas do you have or actions have you taken that would make folks call you that? It is fine to say no one else is doing anything and something needs to be done. But that is not a solution. Tell me what your ideas to make a change are. Better, tell me what actions you have taken. I am always ready to listen to something that might help stop animal abuse. If it is fesible, I will jump in and roll up my sleeves for a worthwhile effort.

I am not afraid to leave my house, just tell me what you are doing outside of the home that has helped. I offered some ideas, you say they are not enough, so just tell me what you are doing that is getting better results. If I could go in person to every puppymiller and transfer some compassion to them I would, but that is also a pipe dream. So, concrete ideas! I think you have the "fire" and people would like to respond if there were specific ideas and projects. I tried to list some simple projects that everyone can do TODAY to truly help. The only reason they have not make a big change yet is there is not BIG support!

Before we start saying everything is hosed up and no one is doing anything, we need to ask ourselves what have WE done to help. If the answer is nothing, maybe we need to re-examine how we word our outrage. JMHO.
I will respectively bow out of our conversation as it feels to me that it is more of an argument as to who is more right than a conversation.

Tit for tat was not what I was looking for or a listing of what I have done or not to pit against your list.

I never said that nothing was being done.

I was not looking invalidate your views or actions as I keep trying to get across.

Have a great afternoon.

If anyone else would like to continue a conversation about what else we can try to do, I am open to it and please feel free to Direct message me.

I did not state I've done anything radical. Please, we are on the same side and I never said that the folks here are the problem or a problem in any way.

I believe that we need to take a step &/or steps that other groups who facilitated concrete changes have done.

Look what they have done for Gay rights in just the last few years. What have they done to manage the changes? It has taken years of hard work, marches and finding people in power who support them and will work with them.

The Million Man walk on Washington. What were they striving for and what has it accomplished?

I look back at real change in policies throughout our government's history and see that it has taken hard work. *Racial equality? Women's rights?*
It takes more than what can be done from our homes and computers.

I am not saying those things don't count. I'm saying they don't seem to be enough to facilitate real changes.

I am not saying it will be easy. I am looking for and to people who are willing to try and fail rather than not try at all.

Again, we are on the same side here and I am not saying I have all the answers.

Open minded and honest communication would certainly be a start.

I am sure there are others who have some ideas. NO ideas are wrong and certainly a safe place to explore those ideas and see if some can stick or inspire bigger ideas can not hurt the cause.
I am not sure where the miscommunication is here.

I would love to find out what "WNO" means, does anyone have a clue? If it means "Will not operate" does this mean a cesarean isn't safe, and she needs a special surgeon? Would it be possible for one of you to get the vet's name a number, and call him. I think talking to the vet would give us more information for authorities. I mean it's not like she's just selling a pregnant dog in that case, and it's something that should be mentioned in the ad.

There must be a limit on how many dogs are allowed before a kennel licence and registration is required. I know here I believe it is 2 or 3 dogs that are the limit after that they need a licence.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was no limit.
Michigan is a state with a lot of freedom...

Great that would be wonderful. Until you can get his number, it might be helpful, to come up with a list of questions to ask him. I don't know how much information he can give out without the clients approval, so perhaps you could even ask her to call the vet and give her permission. This should be done by someone who she doesn't view as an adversary. I don't know how your calls have gone with her, so if she views you less than friendly perhaps someone esle could do this.

Can anyone think of good questions to ask the vet? I want to know what WNO means, and I want to know how long the vet has known this person. Is the dog in question in any danger? How long has she been a patient, is he the regular vet, or a new vet?

I'm sure some of you can think of great questions, but we'll probably get the best information, if we are organized and only one person calls the vet.

I called her when I saw the ad, told her I was from Canada and looking for a sister mate for my yorkie who I also got in Michigan. I just expressed my concern with her delivering, she was trying to assure me it would be fine, I said i was off to work and would talk with my fiancee and call her back.

Lol, so you didn't tell her you were going to write a thread about her and get her busted? Didn't call her a scumbag even once? My, you have control!

Can you think of what would be some good questions to ask the vet, I mentioned a few, and I'm hoping we can brainstorm a little and come up with a way to get information that the authorities might find interesting.

In what context was "WNO"? In the medical world, WNOF means "Was Notable Only For" - so the vet may have been using WNO in that manner, depending on the context.

Oh you would be a good one to actually speak to the vet!

Great list, and you would be another great one to speak to the vet! We need someone that can write the answers down or remember them. I have to disqualify myself, on these counts. Any volunteers?
