| I regret the T-Bone! When we got our yorkies, we (my husband & I) made a rule that the pups get NO PEOPLE FOOD - ever. Reason being, we didn't want them to be beggars, so they don't bother us when we're eating - and it works! They are 7 1/2 months old now, and we have stuck to this rule, with one exception that we REGRET...we rinsed off a cleaned T-Bone after my husband was done eating, and gave it to the pups. After all, both of us had given bones to our dogs when we were kids (of course they were not yorkies though), and we made sure there wasn't too much fat or anything on the bone. Our pups LOVED it, however, became very agressive around it after a while. Neither of them had ever shown any type of aggression whatsoever before that. We took the bone away after that, and the rest of the night was play, sleep, etc. The next morning we went to work & the pups went into their crate as usual. When we came home for lunch, our ENTIRE house smelled like fecal matter...SO DISGUSTING!!!! Something in the pups errupted (you can use your imagination here) in their crate & let's just say I had to take the afternoon off to get the pups cleaned up & the house cleaned & back in order. Everything was back to normal the next day. We will never ever give them any people food for their own good, and our sanity - I know they would become beggars that I couldn't say no to if they realized they could get some food from us at the table! Only dog food & dog treats for my babies!!

| My little Lucy has tried: (loves) popcorn, banana, vanilla ice cream, walnuts (didn't like), cheese, ham (meds were wrapped in it), teeny-tiny bit of chocolate (it fell from my dipped cone and she was fast as lightning for it!), but a favorite is a bubble gum flavored sucker that we keep in the car for her. She gets a few licks every now and then and it is just so cute!! http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/sucker-1.jpg Now my cat, she LOVES anything blueberry. Especially blueberry yogurt and blueberry bagels!

| Mine usually get a tiny bite of whatever I am having for dinner. (If it is safe.) Adie is so picky though she usually turns her nose up at anything that isn't meat. DH will let her have a nibble of vanilla ice cream from time to time and all of them get a taste of milk if I have a bowl of cereal in the evening. When I am through I will dip my finger in the milk that is left and let them lick the drop of milk off. |

| Usually a taste of whatever I am eating, as long as it isn't poisonous to them. I have to keep my grandma away from them when she is here though This woman litterally makes each of her dogs their own plate of food, whatever she has made for dinner, and serves them before she sits down to eat her own food! They are all obese Aside from their weight though, they have never ever gotten sick off of it or had any gastrointestinal issues or health issues. She just thinks she needs to spoil them. My mother in law (this one will get ya, it does me!) orders her maltipoo her own full order of chicken wings, yes with the bones in them. She insists that its so good for her dog. I am amazed the dog hasn't choked to death. She is 11 years old. She does, however, wipe most of the bbq sauce off of them first so it doesnt stain the carpet

OMG BBQ sauce is the least of her worries, chicken bones? Wow 11 years old too , that is either truly amazing or truly lucky not to have chocked . It goes without saying don't let her order take out for your babys

| My DH has always been adament about not giving our dogs human food. However, he has been working from home for 4 months now and I started noticing about a month ago that both of our little guys gravitate to him when we are eating at the dinner table. DH had to come clean and admit that he was sharing his snacks and meals with the boys...he couldn't resist their eyes. Whatever. Any way, he's created two little begging monsters. So, basicially they have turned into spoiled brats when it comes to food and can eat whatever they want as long as it is safe and in small amounts. They appear to have iron stomachs (as someone mentioned in an earlier post). My grandmother has a Boston Terrier that gets his own plate of human food at every meal time (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks). Even when they come over to my house for a meal, she brings her dog and fixes him his own plate, but she makes him eat it in the bathroom because she tells him it's not fair for my babies to watch him eat his own plate and all they get is scraps. |
