| Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | We will be getting a girl. We have struggled with infertility and I always dreamed of a little girl of our own. But for now we have decided to step back from the baby stuff and get a Yorkie. So naturally, I wanted a girl. I can't wait to dress her up in cute stuff! But if I ever got a 2nd Yorkie, I'd get a boy. The boys are so cute too!

| I have had both Male and Female dogs growing up, but have only had Male dogs in my adult years.... There were 2 boys and 2 girls in the litter.... From the very beginning I had told the breeder I wanted a Male.... She sent photos of the 2 Males when they were only 4-weeks old and I was always a teeny bit more drawn to Riley's.....and she only had the 2 males out when I went to pick, at 6-weeks old.... My sister went with me and we were passing the two back and forth. Riley just seemed to be a teeny bit more in tune to us both and I couldn't be Happer with him!! ![]() I went to get him at about 10-weeks old.... and that was the longest 4-weeks...but allowed me to begin the spoiling and get the place ready for his arrival. |

| My boy Gizmo was given to me when his original owner decided he was to much to handle. My husband was not happy to be getting another dog. Now he says only yorkies in the future. Gizmo has so much personality and is VERY affectionate. He is a big mommas boy.

| I think my boys are quieter, less bossy and harder to house train. My girls are moody, vocal and bossy. I wanted one of each. Now I have Four. Two of each.

| ♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | I favor the girls. But I love the boys. I have one of each and could not be happier. But if I chose another I would lean toward a girl....... Guess I love them all.

| I wanted a girl, because that is what I prefer. I can look over the years and 90% of my dogs have always been females. Sure the males have been just as awesome as the females, but it seems for me to be harder to find an awesome male, than it is to find an awesome female.. There is something about the personality of the female dog that clicks well with me, and MOST females (I haven't yet not met one, but I'm sure there are those out there) mesh with me. Where as more males and I don't click. It's not that we don't get along, it's just that there is less of a bonding, even when raised. The males that did... Sarge, bought him as soon as I knew he was for sale, perfect dog in every way. Rolo, son of Sarge, bought him as soon as I knew he was for sale. Beefcake, son of Rolo, bought him as soon as I knew he was for sale, Flash, son of Rolo, bought him as soon as I knew he was for sale, Breigh, son of Flash, bought him as soon as I knew he was for sale. Tank, father of Sarge, bought him as soon as I knew he was for sale. Only had the old guy for 4 months, he was 16 years old when I got him, lol. OK, I had a love affair with that line of males. The funny thing is they all looked different, had different personalities, but we CLICKED. The same thing happened when my beauceron got off the plane, it was an instant click. The only other male this happened with was my male Teddy. I HATED his sire, I still do to this day. He was one of those horribly put together dogs that should NEVER have been bred, but people would breed to him because 1) the pedigree was an AWESOME pedigree, and 2) the owner would breed him to anything that stood still long enough to get stuck. You had a 50/50 chance of getting a REALLY nice dog from him, or a REALLY bad one. The sire had only been bred once to that date and the pups not yet whelped, when the owner of the sire managed to broker a deal with the owner of a bitch I was trying to buy. Somehow the owner of the sire manged to get in a breeding contract that involved that male, bred to the female, and the seller of the female, and owner of sire, got litter picks. I wasn't very happy with that, as I had plans for that bitch, but I couldn't afford to say no, since she was the ONLY female bred like that in the area, except her mother, and the ONLY female in the states bred like that, who was breedable (her mother had been spayed). There were a couple cousins in Canada, but it wasn't likely I'd be able to get my hands on one, so I had to go with what I was presented with. By the time Teddy was 4 weeks old, I knew he had that something special. I can't even define what that something special is, as it was, he was picked by the owner of the stud, who promptly sold him, but I was able to buy him back at 9 months. Considering how difficult it is for me to find a male that I have that click with, there was no way I was going to let my boyfriend pick out a male for me. Females are easy, we always get along, we always click. My breeder friends say that one bitch recognizes another... I.. well.. I can't say they're wrong, lol. |

| Sometimes my daughter says, "you love those dogs more than you love me or your grandchild... (you pick) but I just say "I will always love you and Jeffey more than anything on earth, but these two little boys are with me everyday and they ask for nothing and shower me with love from the minute I wake up until I fall asleep. There's enough love for everybody... |

| I walked into a pet store that had well over a hundred yorkies. There were multiple to a crate. The second I walked in I looked at kaos. He wasn't in the middle of the rumble but slightly on the outside of all the action. I had to watch him until the employee came over and took him out or I would have lost him in all the puppy wrestling. She took him out, and I told her I'll take him. I hadn't even checked if he was a boy or girl until I got outside, because I didn't even care. (I was clueless at the time about pet stores. My next yorkie will be from a breeder or rescue.) He's the love of my life. A total momma's boy and snugglebug. He's only the second boy dog I have ever have but he's loyaly devoted to his mommy.

| The day I got Tibbe I would have taken anything - I wanted a Yorkie so bad - it had been five years since Jilly died and after grieving for so long, I finally allowed myself to get another Yorkie and was blessed to bits to find Tibbe! He was the answer to my desperate need to get another Yorkie and he was so different from Jilly and yet, soooo like her in the sweetness and love and companionship. I was a little afraid to get a boy due to "marking" but Tibbe has never done that so I am double blessed! He's a keeper - well, aren't they all?!?!

| I've grown up with girl dogs so I wanted to switch it up and try out a little boy. Plus like Potter mentioned, boy dogs seem to be more attached to a female, which I noticed. Geno loves being by his mommy more than his daddy. He's always sleeping on me more so than daddy

| I got a male because I saw Rocky and two women were saying "oh but he's a male, and his ears don't even stand up" - I thought to myself, "who cares if he's a male and his ears don't stand up!" I held him and I was hooked. He chewed on my hair which was exactly what the poodle who had just passed away had always done - and he never did it again! It was as if Bridget was telling me to take him! |

| I find that Rocky is more loveable in some ways than my poodles, who were all girls. However, he doesn't really like other dogs and they were all ok that way. |
