After reading this story and the one where someone came to see the puppy and walked off with it, I am beginning to wonder if I should meet prospective buyers somewhere else when I get ready to sell my puppies. But then that would make me look like I didn't want people to see where and how the puppies lived. This is going to be more difficult than I imagined. It seems like I might need my own security people! Life would be so much easier if we could all just trust each other.

| What a heartbreaking story! I hope your coworker can adopt the puppy when it gets older. |

YT 1000 Club Member | I have to question weather or not they really were in the backyard. A thief will do anything to get what they want and then tell any story to back it up a little. Oh I found them in the backyard. Hmmm...not sure about that but ya never know I guess. This story almost had me in tears thinking of the babies missing their mom and the mom wondering what happened to her babies. That's crazy. I fear we'll see worse and worse things with the economy the way it is. |

As for you selling your pups, I'm no expert but I have a suggestion. What if you meet potential buyers somewhere other than your house for a first time meet. Maybe an outdoor coffee place so you can take one of your babies with you so that potential buyers can see how nice and clean and well taken care of your babies truly are. It can also serve as a neutral buffer where you can get a sense of the people you are meeting. You know how we can get a vibe from people? And if you have your one of your pampered poochies there, you can see how they might interact with a puppy, or a dog in general (really important if they will be first time owners). You can later decide wether or not you would like to have these people in your house. Once at your house, I would have a family member or a really good friend there with you. If your really nervous how about a buff friend? Just suggestions if your really scared about allowing people in your house just willy nilly. Good luck!

| This is an interesting story. Maybe you can find out a little more detail from your co-worker. I wonder how old the puppies really were. Maybe the puppy was older than they thought. Do you know if the parents of the pup were registered yorkies? Maybe the puppies were kept in a building in the back yard. I would be curious to know. |

| I saw the pup, it was definately really young. The hair was still really short. I was suspicious as to why it was FREE and why it was so young and away from its mother.

| [quote=DvlshAngel985;2548432]Oh that really is a sad story. The co-worker and her daughter must be so upset. As for you selling your pups, I'm no expert but I have a suggestion. What if you meet potential buyers somewhere other than your house for a first time meet.... When I was looking for my dog, these kinds of meetings were what tipped me off to puppy millers-they never want you to visit their homes. meeting were always suggested for coffee shops or parking lots! Its a hard call- as a buyer, I would like to see where the puppy is being raised. As a seller, she would rather not have strangers come into her home-understandable.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I require a visit to my home and all my dogs must meet and accept the people before I would condider selling to them. I never would leave someone alone with the puppies. Poor babies I hope they find the last one.
