After reading this story and the one where someone came to see the puppy and walked off with it, I am beginning to wonder if I should meet prospective buyers somewhere else when I get ready to sell my puppies. But then that would make me look like I didn't want people to see where and how the puppies lived. This is going to be more difficult than I imagined. Oh that really is a sad story. The co-worker and her daughter must be so upset.
As for you selling your pups, I'm no expert but I have a suggestion.
What if you meet potential buyers somewhere other than your house for a first time meet. Maybe an outdoor coffee place so you can take one of your babies with you so that potential buyers can see how nice and clean and well taken care of your babies truly are. It can also serve as a neutral buffer where you can get a sense of the people you are meeting. You know how we can get a vibe from people? And if you have your one of your pampered poochies there, you can see how they might interact with a puppy, or a dog in general (really important if they will be first time owners). You can later decide wether or not you would like to have these people in your house.
Once at your house, I would have a family member or a really good friend there with you. If your really nervous how about a buff friend?
