I never take my pets to Petco groomers either. I was in line to check out one day and was watching through the window and saw a groomer do something I didn't like. I gave her a dirty look when she looked our way then she was nice to the dog. I thought to late lady I saw enough. I have never taken a pet there and I tell everyone I know not to. I'm sure that groomer has been gone a long time as it was years ago but I haven't forgotten. My groomer does one dog at a time and allows me to stay in the same room.

i dont get it?If i was her I would be spreading the word as mcuh as possible too.I would probably haved liked to hear all the support but i dont see her not returning as abuse....

So is the story legit or is she one of those people who just go around getting sympathy?

I was referring to her abusing our emotions. To come to a forum and sign up for the sole purpose to spread her story with no intent of coming back IMO is a little over the top. If you google this it comes up all over the place AND it is just a cut and post. Something to me is just not right about that. Maybe I'm wrong to feel that way but most people that come here join to be part of this forum are looking for support. Too come and join with no intent of returning seems wrong to me.

I was a little suspicious, and called to check out her story, she left her phone number on the first post. I think the OP just felt like joining as many forums as possible, and sharing her story was the best way to get the word out. She is clearly upset by what happened and wanted to warn others. She has been sick herself, and hasn't had a chance to get back, but I think her main purpose was to warn others. She sent me a link to her story that was reported on the news. What petsmarts told to the news cast is a lie, since the interview they hav not once called me at all. I told how much I was askin for and they just said they only replace a dog for me. thers no way in hell they think that the end of me. Another dog is not gonna replace the pain they put my kids and I through. With the economy so bad how can i afford another baby... Well any who I am in the progress of a lawyer and i will keep u posted...

Hi, I watched the video, and it's just heartbreaking, I'm so sorry you experienced this, and I hope PetSmart changes it policy regarding how they handle the dogs. This could have been so easily avoided.

Thank you Joey's mom...that is exactly how I feel. I am from the Bay Area and saw her story on 2 of our local news channels. She was not out for vengeance or sympathy. Her intent I feel was to somehow get the message out to not let this happen again, so no one would have to go through the pain she did. To make sure Pet Smart review it's protocols. Pet Smart is a big franchise, they treated her loss like she dropped off a dress at the Dry Cleaners, and they destroyed a garment. Not like they took away one of the most precious little pieces of life or part of her family!!!! I am glad she felt she come to YT and post. I am sure that the post of support were read and appreciated.

I think I already posted in this thread earlier, but I just wanted to say again how very sorry I am - this was a tragedy. Thank you for sharing your story - I hope you can find some lawyers who will not let this go. Petsmart obviously has huge changes to make in terms of prevention.

and that you came back to read all of the outpouring of sympathy the posting of you story has drawn.

I never for one minute thought that your story was not legitimate. I too know someone who took their dog to Petsmart and it died while in their care. Your story was very upsetting to many people here as you can see from all of the posts and it just bothered me that I could see that you had never come back after the first post.

Now that you have come back to YT with a little help from Nancy1999 I hope that you stick around. This really is a great place to hang out with other Yorkie lovers.
