| What a moron!!! I would tell the Veternarian what an unprofessinal clod he has working for him. If she's a Certified Vet. Tech she had 2 years of training then State Boards. Evidently she missed the classes on how to deal with the public. Sorry that you had to deal with her. There are just some people who speak without THINKING!!! Hugs, I'm a retired Vet. Tech and I'm appalled!!!!!!

| I probably would have said something like..."Well, no breed is perfect, but with good breeding standards, hopefully Yorkies will be perfected soon". I would then go on and ask "What breed are you interested in"? Don't change vets, if you love him and have confidence in him...a wonderful vet is not always easy to find.

Yorkies are known to have bad knees - it's not an uncommon thing. Keep an eye on the threads and see how many threads there are about yorkies with bad knees. That's a very valid reason to not want a yorkie, IMO. I understand that we love our pups and it's impossible to think that someone doesn't love them. But that's just the way it is. There is no reason to insult her and certainly no reason to change vets. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's not as if she was saying "Yorkies are nasty little rats so I'm not interested in one." LP is a common health problem, and she isn't interested in owning a dog that is prone to one. I don't see an issue here.

| i think the main issue was it was just unproffesional and offensive to the poster which is completely understandable

Though some opinions are better off kept silent, I suppose.

Yes, But calling this PERSON (person being the main word here) stupid and a moron is just immature and Very very very uncalled for. And Way more offensive then saying she didnt want a yorkie. Changing vets for this is almost unrealistic. | |

| She probably didn't realize her statement was hurtful to you. She was just giving her opinion without thinking through what she was saying or who she was saying it to . Was it the wrong time ...yes. Was it the wrong thing to say to a yorkie owner....yes. But I don't think that would lead me to look for a new vet unless there were other problems. I would simply go to her and tell her , "While I'm sure you didn't mean it , the statement you made hurt my feelings." Most likely she will apologize and you can go from there. If she is new , she may not be good at holding her tongue just yet. If there are problems after , Then I would speak to the vet. But I honestly think she just made a statement without thinking it through.

| Pointing out the negative traits of any breed to an owner of a beloved pet is uncalled for especially in a vetrinary office. So is giving unsolicited opinions.

| I wouldn't take to heart so much You can tell the Tech or even the Vet But remember all breeds have their negative issues Great Danes get Bloat very easily and many will have sudden heart failure Dachshunds always have spinal problems and on and on ... His people skills need work

| I guess that would be like my Dr's nurse telling me she doesn't much care for Hungarians because they tend to carry their weight in the middle. Maybe true but very insensitive. Yeah, some things are better left unsaid. |

| While it may have been a stupid remark, I honestly do not feel it is something worth leaving your vet over. She probably was just trying to show off her *knowledge* of the breed. Nothing better to talk about...such as how is your new pup...appetite good?...Etc..........
