i cant believe she can be that STUPID.

and i am so sorry that you had to stand there while she opened her stupid mouth and told you just what a horrible person she is.

i would have probably told her that she was a horrible and stupid old lady.

i feel sorry for any animals that is ever owned by her. god forbid if she ever decides that this 'designer dog' (again, she is kind of a moron) will become inconvenient to her lifestyle.

i wish i could have her put down...because she is inconvenient to her dogs' lifestyle (making sure that all doggies go to a safe and loving home).

I was speechless. I cherish every birthday my Lady has. I was in a terrible car accident a few years ago and had to spend months in the hospital, then months in a wheelchair so I wasn't able to walk Lady for a long time. It never occurred to me to have her put to sleep. I spent $1200 a month to have her and my two cats boarded, then taught her to use pee pads when I came home. I have also given Lady two insulin shots a day for going on eight years to keep her alive.

It gets even worse. This lady then tells me that she went into a pet store with her daughter a few months after she moved in and they had a "designer dog", a Yorkie and Chihuahua mix and she bought it! So now she's leash walking anyway and her two senior babies are dead.

OMG! Some people are heartless. This lady doesn't deserve a dog - or any pet for that matter. She will probably put her yorkie/chi mix to sleep when it inconveniences her life too.

Oh, I believe she was that stupid! Being in rescue, I see applications from people on a daily basis that say things that are so hard to comprehend. They really think what they say/do is ok.
I have heard some people say that they applied for a rescue and were turned down....I often wonder what they wrote on their applications. I am sure that some are simply not a good fit for the pup; but I am also sure many have said things that would stun most people.
This is also the reason most rescues do not give the exact reason for denial....they do not want the people to be able to *edit* their applications.
Those of us who truly love our babies would not even dream of doing what some people do to theirs...the list of horrors is quite long. Sometimes I wish I did not know.

That's what makes me hate pet stores even more, if that's possible. They don't do any screening, just hand you a puppy after you've paid for it. If this idiot had tried to get a puppy from a rescue or reputable breeder she would have been turned down flat.

Yep...pretty disgusting. And..there are plenty of mills keeping the stores in business.

The really crazy part is that she tells people she did it! What a freak.
Once a vet tech told me that they really discourage "convenience" euthanasia. She said they will take the dog, tell the owner they will put it to sleep, and instead find it a home. Maybe that happened in this case.

Vets really shouldn't do that, as kind hearted as it may be. An owner must sign over a pet to be put up for adoption whether it is to a vet or a rescue group. Otherwise, whoever adopts the dog doesn't really have ownership and runs the risk of the previous owners wanting it back. Imagine running into your dog you thought had been euthanized at your vet's office a year later?

Situations change and people who thought they needed to get rid of a pet often have a change of heart. That has happened to me twice with pets I adopted who were given up because of a divorce. Of course, neither one of them got the cats back, but it can be messy. I will always insist on a signed agreement transferring ownership in the future just like rescue groups do.

that's sad. i feel bad for the animals that has to go home with stupid people...

i adopted 2 bunnies from a rescue, and each time i applied to adopt a bunny, i never feel like it's for certain that i will get the bunny. i just figured whoever can provide the best home for the bunny should get the bunny.

a couple of times when i am at the adoption shows, i will see people bring their kids (little, very young kids) to the adoption show, and try to adopt a bunny. and when the volunteers ask them who would be the primary caretaker of the bunny, the STUPID parents would say that the toddler would be. PEOPLE ARE SO STUPID IT HURTS!

what makes these parents think a little kid that probably still wears diapers can be the primary caretaker of a rabbit. it is a living creature, not a f***ing stuffed animal!!!!!!

I cannot imagine someone doing such a thing and then to talk about it!

I have a 16 year old yorkie that is go'n strong and I dread the day when I might have to make a decision for him over a health issue ... it will be so hard.

I believe there are a lot of crazy people out there like that. When I worked at the animal hospital, a woman came in with a 7 year old obese cat with a urinary tract infection. The cat hated to take pills (surprise surprise, ever try to pill a cat? ) and just wanted her put down. I told the lady I would take her because I would be able to get her the meds she needed to clear it up. She stated that she loved the cat so much that she could never let her go to another owner. SICK. That is sick. That is how a psychotic over possesive boyfriend or husband thinks before they kill their girlfriend or wife because they couldn't bare to see them with someone else. Its wrong and selfish. Some of them actually convince themselves that their animal couldn't live without them. What a crazy world to live in. To imagine that you are so great that your dog would die without you. Very selfish. Dogs get over it and find love in new homes all the time. They aren't people, and even so, orphans find love in new homes all the time.

I wonder if this woman has children and if one day they will make the same decision with regard to HER!!!!

I will never forget the day we had to put our poor Cuddles down.....she was 16 , outlived her lifespan and her body was just shutting down. We carried her up and down stairs, in and outside to do her business, cleaned up after her.......well you all know how it is because we love our furbabies!!!

My husband and I cried for days after that! What kind of person could do that just for convenience?????

That is just unfathomable! I don't understand people's thought process. Just the thought of losing one of my furbabies makes me sad! Old dogs can be adopted too!
