| I don't think it is worth boycotting the movie about. Disney had made a ton of wonderful movies about pets. People need to be responsible, it is not the fault of Disney if people do not think through their decisions. |

| That a good idea! I mean its not up to movie makers to take responsibility because some people are just plain ignorant. So don't make any more movies with dogs because there will always be people who are ignorant and blind buy? Thats not fair to those who are not ignorant and to the movie industry. But a nice message at the end just saying that they recommend lots of research to make sure the Chi breed is good fit for their home, maybe some warnings on how small and fragile the Chi is and how its not so good for a home with big dogs or small children. Also a couple ways to find local rescues and shelters in different areas of the country

| Let 's just hope that between the spot from Disney about rescue and lifelong commit of an animal and the magazine subscription will make some people think before going out and purchasing a dog. People will do what they want to do, maybe the avenue to take is education. With so many stories that are out there, recently, about puppymills and abandoned pets due to the mortgage crisis maybe the rescues will see an increase in adoptions.

| I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, and getting some well needed laughs! I would just hope that breeders not sell these delicate dogs to those who have small children just because they went to a movie and liked them there. Poor choices will be made by many people no matter where they see these cute little puppies. It all boils down to responsible breeders! And getting rid of the bad bad puppy mills who just want to make a buck! IMO |

| I actually told hubby I was glad we got Puff when we did because prices were going to go up due to the movie. We paid 300.00 for her so I can imagine how much they are going to become.

| not all rescues are what they seem, at the start of this thread there is a link to Chihuahua Rescue in Kern county, CA. You should check out the site Save The Chihuahuas! Join the Fight TODAY!!. It's a shame that dogs have to suffer from more than one source, sometimes from those who claim to LOVE them. |

| I did'nt see the movie already but the trailer seems so fun that i hope to see it soon. I love yorkies and even if I like this movie, I will always have a yorkie in my home because this is the breed I have chosen since I was a kid. I don't think that this movie will change my mind. But i hope that people who wish to have a dog will rescue chihuahas. Why not? My daughter has a chihuaha and he is adorable. |

I just remeber the up roar at another group working rescue that a few of these puupies during the movies died do to lack of proper vacinations. It totally tunred me off dog movies. I did meet in really life the dog from the movie about that the dog was from outer space and lived with the boy and the boy understood him and the cats were out to take over. Oddly I meet him at an aggression training session. JL

| My husband and I write out Christmas lists for each other. He started his last night, so I started mine, too. I wrote: Yorkie Puppy Chihuahua Puppy Chorkie Puppy We have a 7 year old long haired chihuahua and a 1.5 year old Yorkie. My husband laughed and said he would take me to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua instead. |

| I just came from seeing this movie and LOVED IT! No it did not convince me to go out and get a chihuahua . There are a several parts of the movie that talks about NOT getting a dog as a fashion accesory, or dress them up... Also at the end of the movie there was an announcement about the Humane Society and explaining the responsibility of dog ownership is a Lifetime commitment etc... There were little comments throughout the movie about this. I saw George Lopez who does the voice of the brown Chihuahua named " Papi" on the Ellen show, George said that all the dogs in the movie were from shelters. The brown Chihuahua was from a Shelter and he was going to be euthanized within 24 hrs. The producer or the dog trainer...not sure which .Wanted the dog. They did not give any guarantees that they would hold the dog so the guy slept outside the shelter that night and was there when the doors opened. He adopted the chihuahua and saved his life. The dog is now a trained dog actor... I won't be surprised if this movie makes #1 or #2 at least in it's opening weekend. My husband LOVED the movie also. I usually start falling asleep during Disney movies but not this one! Genie, Cookie,Lola,Angel & Lucky |
