| [QUOTE=ButterflyKisses;2217743] You can get several different looks within one litter - and I've found that certain mom's put out certain looks. So my little Maltese mom that had mainly black Morkie babies - not what I aimed for - will not have any more Morkie puppies, while a different little Maltese mom has exactly the color I am looking for the two times she had Morkie babies. I have found that over all - the babies are more what I want when the mom is a Maltese and the dad is the Yorkie. I am not trying to "better a breed" as a Morkie is not a "breed" but a hybrid. I am trying to always "better" my own individual breeding program though. This has me confused. Since Maltese are white, why would you think the mom had anything to do with producing mostly black colored babies? I can understand different moms putting out different looking babies as far as face, structure and coat quality but how could a Maltese influence a litter to be more black in color? |

| Okay I have to be dumb as heck here.....so give me a second. You mean to tell me you breed for a yorkiepoo then turn around and breed that yorkipoo to a maltese and call it a morkipoo. Please !! I don't mean to say this...but come on there are so many animals in the shelter as we speak. That is not even a designer dog. They have 3 different breeds, and you can get them free in the paper all day long. |

i started with a female black yorkipoo.. then with an akc male stud white maltese.. got 2 white and one all black morkipoo.. i like the black better.. easier maintenance.. but the yorkie wirey hair is the easiest. but the maltese really adds softness. white is prettier but higher maintenance for the little dirt diggers.. ![]() then the poodle makes them curly.. it is always going to be a surprise when they are born.. ![]() the white must be from the maltese and the black genes from the yorkie. they all had yorkie faces except for one .. one little black morkipoo had a flatter face.. i think his face was smooshed during growth in the womb. like the flat face on the s**tzu.. i prefer the cuter fuller face and nose.. i would not even consider breeding a s**tzu with anything.. jmo

Here are the health issues in all three dogs. When you put them together you have mixture of health issues. These poor animals could end up with all, half or none. But why even take the risk. Its like mixing a batch of cookies and wondering if they will be horrible, good or "GREAT". Why would I try to find a morkipoo. This is freakin insane. My two cents worth. And I don't care what anyone thinks if they get offended. This is going to far. Poodles: Progressive Retinal Atrophy inherited. Legg-Calve'-Perthes - Patella Sub-luxation - Epilepsy - Hypothyroidism - Cryptorchidism - may become cancerous. Mitral Valve Disease - Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA) Cushings Disease - Now here is the Maltese : subject to genetic eye disorders collapsing tracheas hyperglycaemia skin allergies, white shaker dog syndrome (disease that causes the dog to have full body tremor Now the Yorkie : BLADDER STONES LIVER SHUNT CAMPYLOBACTERIOSIS PANCREATITIS COCCIDIOSIS PARVOVIRUS COLLAPSING TRACHEA PATELLA LUXATION CUSHING'S DISEASE PATENT DUCTAS ARTERIOSUS (PDA) GIARDIASIS PROTEIN-LOSING ENTEROPATHY HEMORRHAGIC GASTRIC ENTERITIS (HGE) REVERSE SNEEZING (Pharyngeal Gag Reflex*) HYPOGLYCEMIA LEPTOSPIROSIS

| I have no problem with people crossing breeds responsibly. I do have a problem with calling them "designer" and making them out to be something they're not so you can charge more for them. I don't agree that you shouldn't breed crossbreeds b/c of the amount of shelter dogs b/c then you really shouldn't be breeding any dogs and i don't think thats true b/c I looove my yorkie!! lol.

The point is that some breeders are playing a game of Russian Roulette, but not with a gun but with animals for a $. Whatever I'm NOT messing with your MORKIPOO, last week you said I was "messing" with Gus Gus. Everytime I say something you think I am picking on your dog. YOUR dog is not to blame for what WE humans do to them.
