I think the Mars test is specifically a blood test, the test by Biovet is a cheek swab test.

I think I read that they do both but the Blood is more extensive and identifies more breeds.

The Biopet lab I believe just does the cheek swab.

I did not say they would be banned. I said they were afraid of being banned. Perhaps they merely did not want to be judged and scrutinized by their peers.

I'm guessing that there are a greater number of show breeders that dispose of or hide their 'faulty off spring" then there are that openly admit to them. That is how it was kept secret for so many years.

They did not want to run into Deep S. and they feared being up the family creek.

And I know for a fact and first hand that unethical breeders did in fact AKC register off colored and mixed breed Yorkies back in the 80's, but just registered them as traditional colored. These two "breeders" that I personally knew, bred more than one breed also. One even had a parti breed. Imagine that.
