You are right Nancy1999 I made the mistake of taking my oldest son with me to a breeders house and she kept trying to sell me a bigger breed dog because she kept saying that my son might hurt her so I didn't get a pup from her. It all worked out for the best because the pup that she was really trying to get me to buy had a hernia and I didn't find out until I got there.

Our Maggie is 8.6 lbs. and I just love it that she is not as fragile as Mitzi was (4.5 lbs.) She can go for longer walks and gets up and down the couch and bed by herself. Our puppy Mikki is 4 months now and a healthy 4 lbs. She's not going to be a tiny one either...

Bruno is 2 yrs old and 7.8 pounds. Little Baylee is just about 10 weeks old and at her check up last week she was up to 2.3 pounds. She has already grown so much since we got her!!

Well Mine vary in weight and size. I have 4 and only 3 of them are related.
Maggie weighed in at 7 lbs before pregnancy she was bred with a 4.5 lb. male she produced. a 6 lb, a 6.5lb, a 7lb and an 11 lb. The only one I consider a teapot is the 11lber. But if you see him in person he doesn't look like he weighs that much. He just has long legs and a longer frame. His mother has a longer frame and short legs and his brother is perfectly square. The 7 lb male is square also but he is more muscular. So it is possible that once in awhile you end up with a throwback. even if you do tons of research on the lines you have something could still pop up. But the bigger yorkies are perfect for that family that really wants a Yorkie but the breeder is skeptical because of the kids.

I understand about a breeder a on line- friend of mine paid lots of money the breeder told her that she was a micro-mini she din't know anybetter when we meet in-person (at a San Jose meet-up) she was in shock when she say my Phoebe that was back then when I only had Phoebe, I think she will flip if she see Melody anyway never trust a breeder who use that word micro-mini is what I told her, we had a little talk lol anyway just be happy that your baby is happy and healthy that is what matter the most girl, now you know better you will learn a lot here at this site

Ziggy was 3.25 pounds at 12 weeks. Now at 18 months he is 15.5 pounds and exactly the right weight for his size. His parents were 6 and 7 pounds according to the breeder. I think that some (unreputable) breeders may lowball the parents' weights to give the impression that the pup will be smaller as well. I had hoped for a 7 pounder fully grown but am quite content with my teapot. He is healthy, energetic and tough. He could walk all day and ask for more.

I really appreciate being able to read every ones thoughts and learn how very different all of our babies are. I am thankful for this forum.

So to add my experience - I wanted to tell you my girl weighed in at 3.8 pounds at 20 weeks. Shes older now and I havent weighed her since. I would 'say' 4 pds now. Maybe but it could be that her hair is longer now. She looks a little on the small side.

It doesnt matter to me if she ends up really small as long as all of her little organs are the size they need to be... as long as she is healthy she can weight 4 or 24. She is just so very frail and doesnt even know it! She thinks she a little bad a**. Fiesty!

Thank Heavens she is afraid of heights! I dont turn my back for a minute but we nap together and so forth so if there was a chance of her waking - without waking me - I couldnt nap with her for fear of her jumping onto the hard wood and landing wrong. But because I am a light sleeper and she is terrified to go near the sides of the bed - I am able to nap with her!

They sure can surprise you My Mocha was the bruiser out of his litter...my breeder expected him to be around 6lbs. Well, he's a year old and a whopping 3lbs. He turned out to be smaller than all of his siblings. He's got a really small frame and tiny bones. I always worry about the slightest little thing. But forunately, he doesn't get into too much trouble *knock on wood*. He's actually the perfect size for me, as I'm only 5 feet tall and 105lbs, so whenever I hold him he looks pretty normal sized but when somebody bigger holds him, he looks super tiny lol.

Duke is a big boy, he was 9lbs 4 months ago, but my parents over fed him while I was away and he is now 15lbs we are slowly trying to get his weight back down because the vet classified him as overweight.
But I never thought he was going to be as big as he turned out, his mom is petit, I didn't see his daddy but I know he was bigger than the mom.

I was told that Lucie should be around 5-6 lbs fully grown. I took her for her first vet appointment at 11 weeks and she was just under 2lbs, she was supposed to go into today but they called me and said they had an emergency and needed to reschedule so she's going in Monday a day before she is officially 17 weeks, and we'll see how much she has gained.

We went to the vet today and Lizzie-who is three months old-is a stout 5 lbs already!
Ace is 5 months and only 3 lbs. I love him to pieces but love that Lizzie feels less fragile.
(Of course he thinks he is the bigger one )

Pebbles is 12 lbs. but doesn't look it at all. She has really long legs and a longer body too. I love her no matter what her size.

Doodlebug was at the vet today and he calculated 15 weeks (I was off by 1.5 weeks) and he's 4.2 My baby is growing up fast!
