| I'm so sorry you were treated like that. It seems like there are so many vets out there that don't even care about animals, they just want a paycheck. I'm glad you left! I don't think you should have to pay, they didn't do anything for you.

| Spell check ate my post!?! We are proud of you for walking out of there! That Paris comment was way un called for, what a buttface! If I had to deal with all of that I would be crying my eyes out right now. Im glad Mikey was able to get home early to be there for you! If I may offer a little info; we chose our vet partially because of his crazy loyal patients, we have waited over an hour in a full waiting room to see him. So if you are waiting a while at your next visit maybe it will be a sign that he/she really takes their time. Also ask others that are waiting, unless they call you a name then tell them to suck it! JK! Hugs to the girls and Snoot! PS Brady sends a wink to Paisley

| I think you did the right thing. It sounds like you handled like an adult and not a child throwing a tantrum. This is called posture. I hope you can find a good vet.

| I used to be a vet tech for years and where I live that vet office would probably not last long. I believe sanitation is part of the law, especially sharing the poo on the thermometer!! Here a thermometer has to either have disposable sheaths, which ar changed after each dog, or they have several which have to be soaked in a disinfecting solution after each dog. I am pretty darn sure the tech was breaking the law. As far as the cleanliness of the office, if smell was the only issue, that could be explained by having a very stinky emergency that cause it before the clinic opened, however, if the place LOOKED unclean, then someone wasn't doing their job. Cleanliness is so very important (germs, parvo, etc) and a vet MUST be aware of that so by having a dirty clinic they are telling you right there that they could care less about the welfare of their clients animals. The receptionist was just plain ignorant. I get these kinds of comments whenever I take Alastor out. He is pretty much always in his stroller, purse or just being held. the little guy is only 2 1/2lbs, so there is no way I am having him walk around people who could step on him etc. besides, he LIKES being off the ground. The receptionist may or may not be a reflection on the clinic, in this case I think she surly is. The vet is pathetic, IMO. There are several around here who seem to think that we pet owners should bow down to their all knowing expertise of all things animal. You did the right thing by protecting your pups. Who knows if they even refrigerate the vaccinations properly, use expired vaccinations etc. Because of the obvious lack of care they show elseware. I certainly would NOT be suprized. Perhaps you can write a letter to the editor if reporting them fails, so at least other pet owners will be warned.

| Totally unprofessional!!! good for you for walking out! how could you put your precious babies lives in their ignorant hands? I will be going to my chosen vet with a list of Q's when i take Pixie in to be spayed...he WILL take the time to listen and explain everything to me, take all the essential tests etc otherwise I will walk too.

| I am so glad that you walked out of there. People like that don't deserve to be in business. I always come in with a list of Q's, no joke everytime I have new ones. My vet even advised against the lepto when i asked her about it. But it seems like it is getting rarer and rarer to find people in the animal buisness that actually care about the animals.

exactly! i probably would have let him go through with it, and then cried. this is my first dog, and im really young to be living on my own and taking on the responsibility by myself, so i was BLESSED to have found a good vet right off the bat. you are SO STRONG for not only leaving, but having the balls to tell him why! THEY ARE COWARDS for not having a response! good for you! your dogs are better off thanks to you. | |

| Wow, I read that whole thing and it sounds very similar to an experience I had at my first vet. The place was dirty, the receptionist was rude, I had to wait forever, and nothing was ever fully explained to me about what they were doing. And at the end of the appointment they wouldn't even follow up on what shots my dog needed next or anything. So i later took Abbey back to get a rabies shot and they also gave her other shots with it!! Needless to say, Abbey got very ill and when I called for help they were rude and offered no help (I got help from YT!! Thank god.) After that, I knew I needed to switch. I searched and searched and found an EXCELLENT vet. They have on site grooming, they specialize in smaller breeds, and were so friendly. When I walked in they greeted me and Abbey, gushed about how adorable she was, and asked tons of questions. They vet was great too, she took extra time to answer any and all questions and welcomed more. The place was emaculate clean too. I told them about how Abbey reacted to her shots and they even offered to watch her all day for free bc I had work!!! The vet also took time to formally introduce me to the on site groomer and give me a tour. The groomer there even specializes in puppies. Now, this is a lot of info but it just is to show that the first vet (just like the one you saw) was UNACCEPTABLE and their are vets out there that truly care about animals AND their owners. That's how it should be. So don't give up and keep looking and hopefully you will hit the jackpot like me. This new vet is more pricey but worth it. I would NEVER have left Abbey for surgery at the old one but I have her scheduled to be spayed at this new one and feel much more at ease about it. And, no you didn't overreact, I actually COMMEND you for walking outta there! I wish I had left that first vet sooner.

| Also, you were good to follow your instincts bc the first time I went to that vet I thought it was dirty and was put off by the staff and just had an overall bad feeling. But I still took her back, and look, she got sick!! So if I would have followed my instincts, that maybe would not have happened. So good job.
