| It appears we were typing at the same time. I want to welcome you to Yorkie Talk. I hope that others will read what you have said and not pass judgement. All of us here are so passionate about this breed that it is easy to get up in arms without stepping back to see the big picture. I hope you do stick around because I think you will find this is a great bunch of people and I do know for a fact that this site could really benefit from your expertice. Sonya

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Posts such as this make many of us suspicious because occasionally someone claims to be a vet; and only makes one or two posts with a link to their web site. With search engines such as google the person might be using YT just to increase the number of people who find their web site. This sort of person could possibly be a puppy broker, which many Yorkietalk members find reprehensible. So you can see why many of us are apprehensive in welcoming you. Furthermore, so few vets believe in breeding mixes, you can see why we might be suspicious.

| You must be quite a magician!!!!! Where do you find the time? I have known quite a few breeder/exhibitor/vets but they usually only have 1 or 2 breeds, not 12. And at the most, 2 or 3 litters per year, but usually only 1. Most of the vets I know do not promote mixed breeding and would definately frown on breeding 10 to 12 different breeds. If you are a rescue, dont you think that its a little irresponsible to keep breeding more dogs?Just wondering. Well, anyway, welcome to YT! I am sure your expertise in vet care will be welcomed. |

| I used to take my dogs to a vet that also bred Yorkies. I don't know the exact number but it was 40 or so dogs. They also boarded animals. Most of their dogs were kept at the office/boarding facility. Employees provided a lot of the care and as far as I could tell, their facility was very good and the dogs were always in good shape and well groomed. I'm saying this to offer an explanation of how many dogs can be cared for. I know it doesn't speak to time spent with them which, to me, is very important. I haven't looked at the OP's website; just relating something that I know about personally. I'm aware of many members' opinions and am not trying to change anyone's mind. It's up to the individual to decide if they agree with certain breeding practices. I just wanted to point out that there are ways to care for a large number of animals and there may be some circumstances where the reality may not be as bad as it sounds. Also, I'd like to welcome the OP to YorkieTalk. It's a great site and hopefully we'll have something to offer you as well as hearing your input. |

| I always get a little upset when people question all the animals that a person had. There are days that I get overwhelmed, but in general I would not change a thing. I am mom to 10 right now...(grandma to 3 I own 7) Yep my hands are full and I never go anywhere except to work and store, I don't get vacations.....but this is the life I chose.......

| YT Addict | I think that regardless of what other people think about your breeding ways, your advice on sick/injured and other medical questions would be very much welcomed! If people don't like how you do things it's simple....they don't have to buy a dog from you! But your membership is a very valuable asset to the forum! |

| Hi there...welcome here. I have a question for you as a vet ... not about my yorkie though, lol. It's my cat. She had a litter of kittens. Thing is...over a few weeks two of the kittens started going bald (pay attention now cause this get odd, lol). They are grey and white....and they are ONLY going bald on the white. The grey is growing normally. So, the white is falling off and the skin is wrinkling daily much like a spynx. No, we have no spyx's here that she could have bred with. She is an outdoor(garage) cat...and the kittens are 3 weeks old. I took her them all to the vet here and he has never seen anything like it before. He is contacting the Vet Research Centre for help. Any ideas? Remember...the grey is totally normal...and the white is going bald. |

| I delivered pups last night, so I'm slow.. You wrote your reply and posted while I was writing my post. Thank you for your reply, and your future help with questions. I'm sorry you felt judged, but we have had a great deal of stressful posts lately. Bragging about "born blue pups", breeding "teacups", and "wanna breed because I love my pet". I'm sure you hear lots of that yourself, and hope that you understand concerns posted. It's been very difficult to be trying with all your soul to breed correctly, ethically, and honestly to see someone pop up and ask for help in delivering puppies out of a 2 lb Bitch bred to a 7 lb male, and never asked beforehand for the do's and don'ts of breeding, or the "my pups are now 7 weeks old, when do I dock tails" phone call I got the other night.. ![]() I studied, asked questions, called and went to visit with Vets and several breeders before I even thought I might have what it takes to be a good breeder, or for that matter before I bought my 1st Yorkie. None of us know everything, a lot of us know a lot.. But we all could learn more... We welcome your expertise! |
