New to site also Veterinarian and breeder of AKC Yorkies in Oklahoma Hi Everyone, My name is Laura Morphis. I am a veterinarian and breeder of AKC Yorkies in Oklahoma. I stubbled upon this site and decided to join thinking maybe I can be a help to people with veterinarian questions and maybe my puppies could find good loving home through advertising on this site. Our puppies are raised in our house around my four children, come with a written health guarantee, AVID microchip, and lifetime veterinary support. They go directly from our house healthy and pre-spoiled to the new owners. Thank you for taking the time to read. I just wanted to introduce myself. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday afternoon. Welcome to YT! Nice to see you here! We can always use help from DMV's! :) I looked at your site...you sure have a lot of different dogs having puppies. Are they all in your house?? If you have yorkie puppies to sell, i would suggest posting on the Yorkies for Sale or Wanted Forum Yorkies For Sale or Wanted - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community Be sure and read the rules and regulations about listing your babies there. Looking forward to getting to know you and your furbabies! :) |
breeder Welcome to YT...you are the first vet I have ever meet who breeds 10 different breeds and breeds mixes...most vets are screaming at people to stop adding to the pound population. |
I just looked at your puppy page and it appears that you raise 12 different kinds of dogs...3 of those being "designer breeds". That just seems like a lot of dogs to care for. |
Tammy Tammy, you are a better counter then I am..LOL Okay, I have to say this...OP, you are ever so welcome here, but high volume breeding leaves a nasty taste in most YT members mouths. So prepare for some negative posts. The fact you are a vet blows me away...I can certainly agree with selecting one or two breeds to produce..but there is no way anyone, even a vet can produce as many breeds as this and do it well...by that I mean, selecting only quality stock that is an excellent breed representation to produce quality puppies of good health. Socializing large numbers of puppies is another big drawback for high volume breeders... You are exactly the type breeder I advise potential buyers to avoid...and I am sorry I have to say this, but I must. |
How did you manage to care for so many litters so close together??WOW there were several all within weeks of each other. |

Sounds Fishy to me...you have what...12 breeds... thats gotta be 40-50 dogs in your house at once? |

I hope that I have not offended you...just know, I ask these questions because I love dogs. Tammy |
In theory, I would tend to agree with the previous posts. But I think that we also might need more information before making assumptions. Of course, if your opinion is a definite "no" on mixed breeds, or on number of different breeds, then no more info is needed on those points. I did not read every word on the site, but it looks like there are four adults involved in taking care of the dogs and four children. We don't know the ages of the children (unless it was somewhere I didn't read). So it is possible for them to be caring very well for a number of dogs. I didn't read anywhere that stated the actual number, it is possible that with some breeds they only have two dogs for breeding. It is also possible that one person could be "expert" in two breeds (or three if they were similar, more if the person has tons of experience.) It is also possible that they have more than one additional persons working with them. Please understand that I am not trying to defend this person in particular, as I do not know them. The concerns posted here are very valid. And again, depending on your opinion of mixed breeds and limit on number of different breeds, then you may have all the information you need. And I understand that all the above are only possibilities. However, without more information I personally could not make a decision as to the well-being of the dogs. To me, the care of the dogs is of primary importance. Please, please, please do not take this post as argumentative or confrontational. I am just stating my opinion that I would need more information before labeling this breeder. :) |
Welcome to yt ! I'm speechless...... |

Laura welcome to YT maybe we and you can learn here :) |

Of course, as I mentioned, that is one issue. There are others that I would need more information on, and any of these issues alone might be the deciding factor for someone. |

Its really not 10 or so dogs per person...there are also all the puppies... there had to be at least 20 puppies that i noticed were born in 2008. Im no expert but i think puppies involve more care and constant attention... even if the litters are spread out... they are still around for at least 8 weeks. |
