| Did you pay through Paypal by any chance? Maybe there's some recourse there if it wasn't that long ago?

| Akc Call the AKC and file a complaint..and most likely they will tell you it is a civil matter...but at least a complaint will be on file for the next buyer. I would write a registered letter asking for papers or a refund..then follow through with a small claims suit...it will be inconvenient, but it is your best recourse...unless she is a YTCA or regional club member...then you can "sic" them on her...that is how I got a refund once...good luck |

| Please, people, be more professional-- I have granted this person a time extension before I start going public with her identity but it's going on one extra week and still no papers. Even AKC says those papers should accompany the dogs when they are delivered, but I'll bet they do nothing when I report this. This should be grounds for suspension. Please, everybody who ships dogs, be more businesslike. This is not a funny thing for me. I paid $6500 for two show dogs and am now missing the show entry deadlines because I can't register them. Terrible business person I got involved with--- |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This is one of the main reasons that I recommend everyone register their dogs, if eligible. Many people don't because they say they are not breeding or showing anyway, but so many breeders sell dogs that they claim are AKC eligible, yet when it comes time to receive the paperwork, all these excuses come up. Definitely report them to the AKC, and maybe they can advise you on further action. If their dogs aren't really eligible, this would be fraud, a serious crime. I have a feeling some breeders are using a bait and switch practice with some dogs being eligible, and their "papers" are given to the people who make the most fuss. I definitely would not choose a breeder who sold both ineligible and eligible pups.

| the story gets wilder--- Now she's telling me the dogs are registered to someone other than herself and she's waiting for that party to send her the papers so that she can forward them to me. Doesn't that mean she sold me dogs she didn't own? Isn't that a criminal act of fraud, for which I can file a police report and have her arrested? There are a few kennel names in this drama, some members of this site. All will be exposed if those papers don't show up. What the h... is the matter with people? Belinda |

| AKC will not do anything in getting you the papers and they do state that the papers should come with the dog. Their rules state with selling a dog you MUST give full identifying information with every dog sold even if the papers are not yet available. Perhaps reporting her would result in her loosing AKC rights....if she has them at this time that is. This is simply against their rules!!! I hope you saved all of the emails! I would think that this is more of a civil matter and perhaps only small claims court...although with the amount of money involved it might be able to go further. I don't see why people do this! I hope you get those papers!

| there are other people involved--- [QUOTE=Sugar's Mom;1940444]Sounds like she bought the dogs and turned right around and sold them before she herself got the papers or she is a broker. i wouldn't worry about exposing other kennel names because no matter what is in the pedigree, the deal is between you and the woman that sold them to you and not the other people unless I am missing something here..[/QUOTE From what I've been able to piece together, Breeder X purchased the dogs from breeder Y, then transferred them to breeder Z. Z didn't uphold their end of the deal so X took the dogs back to re-sell to ME, only the papers haven't followed the dogs around and I'm holding the bag--got dogs, no papers. Meanwhile Mrs.W, a breeder friend of X, has contacted me to say what a great person she is and that she'll make good on her agreement to get me those papers. So, I guess Z still technically owns the dogs, and W has jeopardized her good reputation by speaking to me in defense of X, who is looking increasingly like a criminal. I think I'll eventually publish all the names regardless of whether I get my papers. Anybody who does business this way deserves a bad reputation. |
