recourse for non-delivery of AKC registration I just purchased two dogs, sight unseen, from somebody I met over internet. They were for showing and future breeding. I checked her out best I could and she seemed clean, but it's always risky, I know. Dogs arrived looking not quite as described, but OK. Papers didn't come and I'm getting run-around, ignored and excuses--too busy, too sick, somebody else has them, etc. These were very very expensive dogs that came from about 2000 miles away from my home. I'd like to hear from people who have had similar experiences and how they were resolved. Also, should this be posted somewhere else? Thank you. Belinda |
Sorry to hear about that! I really don't know anything about purchasing over the internet and such but I know that if you purchase goods with a credit card you can argue charges. I hope everything works out for you and sorry I couldn't be of more help! |

I'm not experienced but first thing that came to mind was to contact the AKC. The internet is not a good place to buy. For one you do not know really the conditions the parents or pups are living in. I hope it works out for you. Elaine |

I breed and the papers are ready with the puppies, I dont understand when people say they are waiting for the papers. It doesnt take long to register the litters. I have heard of mess ups with getting them back from AKC but that doesnt sound like the issue here. Im sorry this happened to you. Im not sure what you can do. |
let me ask a different way--- Thank you all for your replies, but I'm interested in knowing what I can do to pressure this breeder into giving me my papers. There's no point discussing how I came to do business with someone I didn't know, etc. She sounded good in email and on the phone, and I didn't find any bad reports on her on internet, etc. These were not puppies that I purchased, they were adults, and one is supposed to be a champion though I sure don't have papers to prove that either. These were expensive dogs! She has impressive quality dogs on her web site and she claims to be showing sone if them. I want to hear from people who have had similar experiences with people making excuses instead of giving them their papers. I want to know where they filed any complaints---BBB, AKC, attorney general, websites that record breeder reviews, etc. For this sum of money it should be a criminal matter! |
file a complaint through AKC, also look in your state for pet lemon laws, you may want to post his or her name on this site to put the pressure on or to get feed back from maybe someone else that has had dealings with this person, also if they have a kennel license you can contact the city/county they live and make a report, better business is also an option. Good luck. |

Problem solved. |
I guess I would first threaten that you are going to file reports or possibly file a lawsuit. If she doesnt come through then take whatever actions you can. Do you have a contract from her? Does it state anything about the papers in the contract? |
Can you please post the website?? |
Do you have the Akc reg . numbers or the name of the champion? or pedigree or actual reg. name of each dog? PM if you prefer. |
all will be disclosed tomorrow I have emailed her a final demand and will start reporting her tomorrow. At that time I will post something here disclosing her identity. Thanks everyone. |
Good luck! |
