I just don't want to cause controversy bc everyone in my building is friends and I am new. Soooo they are used to everyone being able to walk around with unleashed dogs and pretty much everyone in the building has a dog. So, if I told her then everyone would need to start doing it and that could cause some grudges. Ughhhh, I don't know what to do.

| So this is new. I was babysitting today and took the kids to the park across the street from their house. Well about 10 or so minutes after we got there I saw this guy chasing his dog who didn't have a collar or leash but it was in the guys hand. Well AFTER he got the dog on the leash he let it go so it can run around. First off were in a park with a ton of little kids, second, the dog has the leash on but the guy just let him run around dragging it. The lady I babysit for told me a lot of people had yelled at him for it and all he says is my dog has a right to the park too. Yeah the dog does, but he needs to be on the leash and the owner needs to hold the leash. The dog actually ran over to an infants stroller and blanket. The father freaked out on the guy. I'm SO happy that I didn't have Legacy and Impreza today. |

ditto. I can't take any of mine for walks hardly.. at least aroudn my neighborhood and w/ gas prices I hate driving to campus to walk. I don't trust Laney w/ unknown dogs big or small (i'm over precausious b/c of her breed), and they always seem to running up to her.. so far no problems but I don't like to take that chance. With Slade we always seem to get huge dogs running up. I wish everyone would just be responsible and keep their dogs enclosed or on leash!

Donating YT Addict | Yep we were charged by a huge lab while walking yesterday in the park and get this...there is a fenced in dog park about 100yards from where the owner was playing with his dog!!! I scooped up Ozzy real fast (Thank God for harnesses) and the dog jumped up on me to get him. I kneed the lab and he got down. I don't think he was mean just had no manners at all. I told the guy "You know there is a fenced in dog park right there" and kept walking. As I was leaving, the lab ran over to a bunch of toddlers and the Moms starting yelling and shooing him away. Some people have NO CLUE.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I don't want to sound awful but you should keep her on a leash - expecially knowing there are big dogs around - I never let my girls offleash (I probably could but don't trust them THAT much to stay close) and let me tell you - we had a pittbull come after us just 2 weeks ago - if I didn't have them ON leash I could have never picked them up as fast as I did. In apartments I believe ALL dogs should be leashed - big AND small - there's just too many people who dont and that's how little dogs get killed.... |

| That is sooo annoying!!! Those big dogs could so easily hurt your little girl!!! If the problem persist, I would definitely call animal control. It's not fair that your baby cannot potty in her own yard!! Does your town have a leash law? I'm sorry this has really annoyed me, I would have a serious talk with that woman before something bad happens.

| I agree 100%. We have a ton of Pit Bulls in town and they are running loose constantly. We are totally fencing in the yard so Cooper and my fiances son can play safe. Some people just shouldn't own dogs!!!!

| I just vented about this the other day to my boyfriend! EVERYTIME we take bella for a walk there is always some huge dog running at her. Then the people always say how he or she wont hurt her! Well how do i know that? what if your dog gets triggered by something and snaps at her. A few weeks ago when on a walk i saw a huge Shepard mix off leash he spotted bella and starting running for her and i picked her up and my boyfriend stepped in front of me and the dog tried to knock him over to get to me! The owners thought it was so "cute" we couldn't believe it!

| It's pretty safe to walk them around my place. Just the park by where I babysit isn't safe. My friend Jenny and I walked Impreza and Legacy today. We just take them once around the block since they are still tiny and today was really hot. But I won't ever take them to the park again. Not with that big dog running around. |

| Let her know your dog is in training and you would appreciate any support she could provide. For example, you are trying to teach her to walk off the leash....maybe while she's out your friend could keep her dogs in. I would start nice...and try to kill her with kindness |

| If the girl is your friend, I would talk to her. I would keep your baby on a leash all the time though. My boys follow me everywhere, but I don't like to take the chance of one of them running after something. It's just not worth the chance of them getting hit.

| This happens to me almost everytime I walk Lily and it seems like it doesn't matter where we are at! The neighborhood (huge, big, red doberman always left out in the front yard with a fenced back yard Go Figure!), the park (always some big dogs running around off leashes),or around our neighborhood pond. The doberman will actually come out of the yard and growl at us. One time the owner came out and was all apologetic, but she seems to be clueless! What is up with these people? If I were you I would just discuss with her politely and if that didn't help contact the management of the apts. I am going to contact our homeowners assoc. if our situation doesn't change soon!
