| I don’t know if I am really ok with her dyeing her dogs hair but it kind of upsets me at the fact she is being prosecuted. There are hundreds of animal suffering in puppy mills and being neglected in peoples homes and this not important enough to do anything about, but yet some women makes her dog pink and everyone in her town thinks she is so cruel. This is what angers me about the world we live in.

| I have a friend who does my hair, she has a salon out of her home. She has a maltese and everytime I go over there he's a different color. Last time he was pink for Valentines Day. I'm sure by now he's green for St. Patricks Day. I've seen him with red and white stripes like a candy cane, red, white and blue for Independance Day, etc. She uses food color so there's no worry of any harm coming to him. She keeps him in a puppy cut so it grows out fairly quickly. Sometimes I look at him (especially when HE was pink) and think "you poor baby" but he doesn't have a clue and it brings a smile to everyones faces. (By the way, did you know that Paul Mitchell has a line of dog products (shampoos, conditioners, etc)?) She sells it out of her salon.

| I don't have a problem with dying dogs, but I'm gonna have to take the opposite stand on this. Whether or not there are other animals in worse condition or she was harming the animal -- it was against the law and she knew it. She'd been warned many times by other people so it's not like she was unaware. Regardless of the circumstances, it was still against the law. She shouldn't have knowingly done it. Not that I don't think it was for a good cause or anything..........

| Well, the article mentioned that there is a law against dye animal so she violate that law. And it said that they warned her several times so yes I think she deserve to be punished. However I think it is such a stupid petty claim to go after. I don't think dog was not in the danger or in pain. I'm sure there are other criminals in town who really need to be punished. |

| For me it isn't a question of whether the dog should be dyed really, of course no harm came to the dog and it WAS for a good cause. The real issue here is that if she is allowed to do it then how do they stop the chick and rabbits from being dyed. I have see crate after crate of baby chicks that die from the dye used to color them just to make money at Easter. Some of the dye they use is poisonious to the anmials they use it on and that is why the law was made. Do we do away with the law so a woman can dye her dog pink for a good cause when she could have put a really cute pink outfit on her and accomplished the same thing. Or do we back the law that makes it a crime to dye chicks and rabbits and see them slowly die from the poison in a dye used to color them. That is the real delimna. |

| YT 1000 Club Member | As long as the dog isn't hurt I don't really mind. It's just changing the color of the coat and nothing else.... I actually wanted to buy some dye a couple weeks ago for my aunt's white/orange cat.... http://www.petedge.com/catalog/produ...roductId=51763 http://www.petedge.com/catalog/produ...templateType=1 |

| I rhink dying a dog with the correct safe dyes is cool !! There is no harm done. I think the world has much larger issues then a pink or green dog. It's free choice |

| It's not like there aren't puppy mills running in that very city or drug dealers or child molesters, let's go for the lady who uses beet juices on her puppy for a good cause! Come on people, let's use our time and money wisely! If I was a tax payer in that city or county I would be throwing a fit and throwing the procecuter out of office! |

| I do not see anything wrong in using a safe color dye on a pet dog..ring dog is another story of course. I do not agree with dying chicks and ducks for Easter... We had a neighbor who bred poodles when we were in the UK...at Easter she would dye all her dogs different pastel colors...it was great fun. |

| Princess Diana I for one appreciated your comments. This is the way I see it too and if others realized why the law was made I think they would understand too. The cruelty done to the baby chicks and baby rabbits is unacceptable and it would set a precedent if she were allowed to dye her dog even though it was for a good cause. I feel there is a greater cause here in saving baby chicks and rabbits from cruel treatment. As I said before she could put a really cute pink outfit on her dog and been just as cute. I wonder about her because she has to know why the law was made since the article said the Humane Society had talked to her many times - she does care about breast cancer but does not seem to understand or care about animal cruelty in the protection of baby chicks and rabbits- the reason the law was made. |

I see nothing wrong with dying dogs with safe dyes for fun, but that's just looking at the little picture. I rather see no one dye their pets if it means it will save the lives of all the other poor animals like rabbits and chicks who die from this. I agree that there are bigger animal abusers who should be persecuted before this woman is, but there are different processes. This woman knew the law, and ignored it after multiple warnings, she walks her dog around so there are witnesses. The process to persecute her is easier.
