| Hi! I am a New Member from Texas! Just wanted to say hello to everyone. My name is Tia and I live in Pearland, TX which is about 15 minutes south of the Houston, TX Medical Center. I come to the board with a heavy heart. One of my beloved Yorkies, Coty, ran away from home about 8 weeks ago while I was out of town. He was spotted in an adjacent subdivision and we believe that he was picked up based on discussions with 5 or 6 people in the Silvercreek neighborhood. He was seen with a young girl near the pool and then we were told that 2 teenagers saw him at the pool area, gave him water and they said he was limping. Despite posting a reward for $1,000 (albeit 6 weeks after he was lost), we have still not had our beautiful boy returned. We believe whomever picked him up took him out of the community. I have another Yorkie-Poo mix, Tyson, who is now 14 years old and very spry, so that is a consolation. But it still feels like a member of the family is gone. I am a very busy stay-at-home mom with a 4 yr. old son and a 5 month old son, but am struggling to accept the fact that Coty may never be returned. I have contacted a breeder in Huntsville and she has a little male Yorkie waiting for me to pick up around August 15th. I am still in faith that Coty will be returned to us, but I need encouragement in moving on. Any suggestions? Sorry to begin our "relationship" on such a down note, because I LOVE YORKIES. I grew up with them and even had one in my wedding, but my heart is just broken over the fact that Coty is not with us where he belongs. I look forward to chatting with you new friends.

| Welcome! Tatum and I (and family) live in Brenham, TX. I wish I had known of a breeder in Huntsville when I was looking - I ended up getting Tatum in Houston but it was a good choice. I'm sorry to hear about Coty. It's so cruel of someone to not do everything they can to find the owner when a pup is lost. I would be heartbroken. Good luck on your search. I know from past experience that getting a new one does not erase the sadness you feel for the other but in my case, did help ease the depression I felt. I lost my 15 year old toy poodle last year and had Tatum within 2 weeks. It was a hard decision to make but we are so glad we got her. Keep in touch - we love pictures!

| Oh, my heart goes out to you. I couldn't bare the thought of having my poor helpless baby out there on his own. I hope whoever did pick him up is taking good care of him and is trying to find his owners. My thoughts and prayers are with you that your little guy makes a quick return. In the meantime, welcome to YT. And remember, if you ever need anyone to listen to you vent.... we are all pretty good at listening. Hope to hear from you soon.

| Hello and welcome to YT. I am heartbroken about your little Cody. Have you tried calling all of the Vets around there? Maybe someone took him to a vet and mentioned he was a stray. It could give you a lead as to where he went. I hope you find him. I pray who ever picked Cody up are giving him a good life. Ad in paper, inform the vets, etc.

| You all are the BEST!!! Thank you for your kind words. Thank God that He directed me to this forum. I have done everything that I know to do, putting up flyers, posting ads in the papers, leaving flyers with every vet & groomer within a 5-10 mile radius, posting at the Post Office, grocery stores, calling the animal controls for our county daily, websites for lost pets, Petsmart, Petco -- even Starbucks and the port-a-pottys in the subdivision where he was last seen (there's a lot of construction still going on there). I am so exhausted and I have 2 little ones to take care of too. It's so disconcerting to me that the person that has him has to know that the dog belonged to someone (although he didn't have on his collar). He is immaculately groomed. As a mother I worry about how and what they are feeding him, if they are using Frontline or Advantage on him, is he on his Heartgard monthly....and how he must be missing us. Not to mention that they are probably calling him Skipper or Pepe and his name is COTY!!! It's the "not" knowing about everything that has me so distraught. Tyson is 14 and we had another dog, Conan, that would be 15 if he was still living. He died in January 2000 and I drove to San Antonio 2 weeks after Conan died to get Coty (c-o from Conan; t-y from Tyson). And he helped my heart to heal. I am trying to move on because I don't want to neglect my children, especially my baby, because I am so consumed with finding Coty. They deserve to have a happy mother. I guess the fact that Coty escaped while I was visiting my family in Maryland didn't help either. Hopefully, the new puppy will help us all to move on. I am just concerned how Tyson will handle another new addition to the family. He did great when I had my two children, but he moped around for about 3 months when we got Coty. Anyway, thanks again to you all...it's great hearing from you.

| I do understand that feeling. We had an adventure with our poodle when he was about 14 where he just wandered away from the house while we were trying to pack and move and the gate got left open. He was partially blind and very slow (although still fairly healthy) and managed to cross a busy highway into a park. Thank God someone saw him, wrapped him up in a blanket and called the pet shelter. He wasn't wearing his collar either. I was just beside myself searching for him. We had to wait about 3 hours before the shelter opened for the afternoon to even call them to see if he had been picked up. That entire time we drove and walked our subdivision and highway looking for him. It's one thing when they have an accident and something drastic happens to them and you have to deal with that but the not knowing where they are and who's caring for them is excrutiating (sp?). That's all I could think of then too. I have hope that your Coty will show up perfectly fine but if not, you just have to pray that someone is loving him as much as you did. Good luck.
