| Im sorry if this offends but we have also called the pound and set up traps in our "BACK YARD" because cats jump our tall privacy fence and we want our yard FREE of disease pooping spraying hissing ect... We caught 4 and I have no idea what happened to them neither do I think about it but I will be the first to set up a trap and have animals hauled in.... They are detrimental to me my family and my Bleu.

I don't think it is safe to ever allow a cat outdoors..my two are strictly indoor only

| Well I am sure they are humane traps the humane society sets them up with food on the inside and when the cat is trapped that day we call them and they come pick it up and replace us with another trap.. This all happened last summer.. Seems to be worse in the summer... But I worried the cat would be trapped and no food or water but they told us whether we got a cat or not they only were leaving that designated trap for 24 hours! I truly liked that idea.. Though I do not want cats around my home I do not want to see them injured hurt starved or euthanized. I am against euthanization.

| I know...it's the fault of irresponsible pet owners..which is one reason I get so worked up about people breeding their pets

| Funny..Ive never noticed any dog poop in my front yard..I dont think it would bother me too much..dog's poo..not a big deal to me I guess..maybe its because I have a fenced in back yard and my dogs dont use the front lawn..I cant imagine going off on any of my neighbours either lol..I guess the sign idea would be what I would go with..I use little bags that I keep in my pocket but I have never seen another person use one..even at the dog park that supplies them for us..how old was the kid? Maybe buy him a pack of doggy bags at the buck store and tell him where he can buy his next pack..I bet alot of people dont think twice about picking up their own dogs poop.. Dawn |

But, the policy here is: you can't just get a humane trap (we have one, btw), set it, and turn in whatever you catch. You must feed and water a cat for ten days to say it's yours to turn over to animal control!!! Our neighbor did that a few months back, and had kittens in his yard!! I don't know how many cats he ended up catching. I guess I'll have to get angry enough to educate the town council about the toxicity of cat poo to dogs!

Also, there is very little enforcement of any law regarding the number of animals you can have in town. Our neighbor throws out cat food all over her porch for all the stray cats....they contantly walk across our back yard....I am seriously thinking of trapping them. | |

| There are no scorpions here in southeast Texas that I have seen. As for the snakes, when be first moved here there were snakes everywhere but when I started feed the feral cats the snakes slowly started disappearing. Now the only snakes I see are the little dead ones the cats leave laying around. The best thing about country life is the privacy and the fact that you can have more dogs and other animals if you want. |

| well,, i tell ya, ,STEPPIN in dog poo is a real "Pet Peeve" of mine,,pardon the pun,, I remember when we were in CA. in an RV park,, seeing eveyone bagging their doggies business,, I was told it was State Law there to do so,, (I didnt have a dog at the time),, but was impressed,, now here we are in Texas in an RV park where LOTS of folks will walk their dogs around the park,, a leash is required by the park and most follow that rule,, but not all,, but SO many do NOT clean up after their own dog!!! it infuriates me!!! I'm like,, would you let your kid mess in my yard and not clean it up?!?!?!?! ,, probably,, UCK!! lol I have SEVERAL times,, given poop bags (which i carry attached to my leash) to dog owners i'd pass who's dogs were doing their business and they were about to LEAVE where the dog left it,,,MOST will look shocked,, take the bag and thank me for it, ,then look like what am i supposed to do with this?? LOL, ,AMAZES me people will be so gross!! but SO many diseases can be left lay if they don't clean up after their pets,, at home we dont have the problem as we live out in the country on 40 acres,, but DO hafta watch out for those SNAKES,, and HAWKS,, and BOBCATS!! and as for feral cats,, they are getting thick here and the park has humane traps set again,,,, so sad so many are let go to fend for themselves,,but I surely wish they'd gather em all up around here!! sorry, I DO go on about this topic,,
