				   | A neighbor of mine has a big Dalmatian and he smallest Chihuahua I have ever seen. She walks them together and they seem to get along with no problems at all.

				   | I would never in a million years risk my Yorkies life by trusting a pit bull (or many other breeds) living in the same house. Its just so sad that people find this out too late. |

				   | ya pitbulls are bit unpredictable but English Bulldogs aren't related to them in any way unlike most people think! They are big lazy bums and my yorkie sleeps with them. |

				   | Over here they 'TRY' to 'kill' the Breed. There has been WAY TO MANY Attacks ... aspecialy on children on the News. I think they are dangerous dogs and they should not be allowed ... but then it is the OWNERS that are the ones that make them so dangerous. Personally I would not do that ..... but every Dog is different. Big Dogs freak me out ... my daughter got bit in the Face at the Age of 3 by my In-Laws Rottweiler ... so NO BIG DOGS FOR US - EVER

My sheltie used to do the same thing to my yorkie! It was so hilarious, if not for the fact Persephone could have gotten killed if Molly hadn't taken care of her...She put herself btwn Persephone and a Rottwiler on a chain one time. Persephone was ready to fight it! These little ones have balls of steel! Even the females!

				   | I really do think its all about how they are raised, my Staffordshire Bull Terrier was raised with a 5lb Yorkie, we lost her last year and now have a 3lb yorkie, he is wonderful with her.

				   | My daughter had to have three stitches in her face when she was about 2 years old from being bit in the face by a Pom that just walked up and sat at her feet until she reached down to touch it. Then it lunged. I had a cockapoo who bit my grandson in the face when all he was doing was petting him and telling it how much he liked him. It had NEVER shown ANY kind of aggression previously. All dogs can be aggressive and some breeds are more prone to it than others. You always have to watch dogs around each other no matter what breed and you especially have to watch them around children. Of course you have to be even more vigilant when there is a big size difference. As great as I think my son's pitbull is, I would never leave my Yorkie's with her unattended. I wouldn't leave my grandchildren with her unattended either, even though my grandson learned to walk holding onto her tail. |

				   | When my daughter was about 3 years old she was at her grandparents house and they had a basset hound that had been raised around her. My daughter was out side and I guess my in-laws were not paying attention and my daughter tried to go in the dog house with the basset and he lunged and bit her on the eye lid. She had to have several stiches in her eye lid but it scares me to think she could have lost an eye or worse. I never leave a dog unattended with a child, I don't care how big or little the dog is. Last edited by bjh; 01-27-2008 at 08:02 AM. |

Our friends had 2, my brother had 2 pits & 3 Rotts, my sons exgirlfriends parents have 1, ETC.... He was living with a girlfriend in Miss., bought the Pit Puppy - son & girlfriend broke up last weekend. My son & pit puppy are back living with us now. So you see, we are not looking to get a large dog - it's allready here! & we are undecided on whether we will let it live here or he will have to rehome it.
