Maybe they need to open a dog restaurant...for dogs and their owners, and just cook food for dogs, and then all the dog owners can go to the restaruants and buy their dogs some good home cooked dog food and sit around while the dogs eat..?? |

I am 100% with you. I totally feel the same way. |
Well, I personally know a ton of animal owners who would LOVE it!!! And if they made it that way in France, they could make it that way here... The only ppl I know who think its crazy is ppl who have kids, and treat their dogs like dogs... My best friend thinks the idea is insane and she hates that I compare my "dog" to her "children"... Fact is, her kids are dirty and stink... and my dog is clean and beautiful & well taken care of. When I look at how her kids live, and I look at Roxy... Guess who looks like they love their child more...?? lol... Anywho... some places would gain business... Oh yeah, they let me take Roxy into Starbucks too :D |
Maybe your friend needs to clean up HER act and bath her children. Also eating with our own dogs is different to be than eating with some nasty stinky flea ridden animal. Quote:

This thread is getting violent... lol... I just think, as many other ppl do, that owners should have the right to take their pets in somewhere as long as they're well taken care of. Just like I think ppl can take their kids wherever they want, as long as they're well taken care of... I'd kick out a stinky kid... and I'd kick out a stinky dog... I would let the nice clean kid stay, and I'd let the nice clean doggy stay. It's like a wise man once said... "Now the world don't move to the beat of just one drum, What might be right for you, may not be right for some..." "Ya take the good... Ya take the bad... Ya take them both and there ya have..." My Fight For Roxy's Bill! I'm takin this the whole way to Capitol Hill baby... lol "I'm just a bill, sittin' on Capitol Hill" |

That's why I said, we'll all just have to agree to disagree... "What might be right for you, may not be right for some" I just love my dog, thats all... And I know others feel the same way as me :D And others feel the same way as others... |
There are plenty of times I'm annoyed because I can't take my dogs places with me, and I wish that the rules would change. But, then I think about all the badly behaved dogs that would be walking around stores, shedding on merchandise, marking on merchandise, pooing or peeing in the aisles. Not to be gross, but the reality of the situation is that many dogs are highly untrained. A store cannot allow certain dogs to be allowed in a store, and others not to be based on if they are in a carrier or not. It would cause major complaints from dog owners with larger dogs. Also, who would police all the dogs in the store and watch out for destructive dogs, badly behaved dogs, ect? People break rules all the time, and if dogs are allowed in stores who knows if certain people wouldn't follow a carrier only rule, ect -- it could be a danger to others in the store. On the allergy front, a single yorkie in a carrier might not cause an issue, but if many dogs are in a store at the same time and repeatedly, the dander can definitely be in the air and cause serious issues for an allergic person with asthma. I totally love my dogs and think they are the best, and I love the majority of all other dogs I meet. I'd love to be able to take them everywhere with me. But I understand that not all people are dog people and that dogs definitely aren't accepted in every environment. |
I agree for the most part and I don't get the paranoia about dogs (well behaved, smaller ones) being in restaurants. I mean, I understand the concerns for "health and cleanliness" but look at Europe. When I was in Paris, most if not all restaurants allowed dogs INSIDE. They even sit at the table. I've even seen dogs eating pate off a plate on the table (that may be going a bit too far imo lol). But the point is, I doubt any of those people are getting cases of food poisoning or other health concerns over it. Obviously, if the dogs are acting up, then they would be asked to leave (with their owners of course lol). I think if they are in carriers or strollers, they should be allowed in stores, etc. Besides, guide dogs are allowed in all these public places and they don't magically become any "cleaner" than other dogs because they happen to be service dogs.... Just my opinion. :D D- PS> about the allergy issue, so many people play the allergy card and frankly, I'm not that sympathetic. There seems to be an expectation of accomadation for people with allergies, etc. and I don't know if I agree...I mean, if I'm allergic to perfumes I don't expect everybody to stop wearing perfumes, I just avoid going to places with a lot of scents. Because that is my issue not everybody else's. I hate when people make a big deal and then cough and sputter and act all dramatic because they're allergic to perfume/scents and expect everybody else to bend over backwards for them. Hee, sorry to go on...it's an issue that bugs me (we share office space with people who are "sensitive" to fragrances and the histrionics bothers me LOL). |
I'm movin to France... lol Free healthcare... And all the Yorkie takin with me I can handle... You shouldnt be allowed to take your dog in a store if its not clean and doesnt have a diaper on!!! :p Cause as Roxy knows... PAMPEYS ROCK! P.S. Roxy has a crush on you anthroboi... you make so much sense... *swoons* lol |
