Fight 4 Our FurBabies Rants... 1 Attachment(s) I wanted to make this thread because I know a lot of us have our problems with the way our babies are treated... this is my personal problem... I believe I should be able to take Roxy everywhere I want... If I was Paris Hilton and I came into a store or restaurant with my dog, they wouldnt think twice to tell me I couldnt bring my dog in... Roxy is clean... VERY CLEAN!!! I go to so many restaurants and I get sick when I see kids picking their noses, snots all over their face, screaming, crying.... touching the food in stores... BLAAAAAAAH!!! Roxy stays in her pink stroller and is completely covered and they complain while Jason is over in the vegetables putting his dirty little hands all over my future onions. To me, this is unfair!!!! I am not saying I hate little kids, cause I DONT! My best friend gets mad at me but its like she just doenst understand because she has 2 kids, who arent always the cleanest in the world... Roxy is SOOO clean!!! She smells better than most children and has very good manners... Do I think everybody should be able to bring their dogs in?? No, not if theyre not well behaved or able to be kept... But I think there should be more places willing to cater to pet owners... We love our dogs like most ppl love their children... and in some cases even more. Does anybody understand what I mean? Or am I crazy like my best friend thinks??? P.S. She's a lot better dressed than a lot of kids too... lol. Roxy in her pink stroller when its opened in front... (she was only 7 months in this pic) Attachment 185224 *~*Jenny & Roxy*~* |
While I don't think dogs should be allowed where there is food sold/served, I also get annoyed with kids that can't behave themselves. That doesn't mean I think they should stay home, they just need to keep their hands to themselves.:) |
See, thats exactly what my Best Friend thinks I am saying too, but its not... I dont think that kids should have to stay home... In fact, quite the contrary!!! I just think if ppl can have their kids out and about who are much dirtier and run a risk of touching things more than my Yorkie does, then why can't I bring my super clean, non shedding, inside a closed stroller Yorkie in??? It doesnt make sense to me. |
1 Attachment(s) COMPLETELY understand. I also think that Layla is better behaved than most children i see at RESTAURANTS (i'm not saying she is better behaved than your child.. just those that i see) she would stay in her little purse or stroller and not bother anyone... and to me.. she is my CHILD... while id ont' know what it is like to have a skin child, i love her as though she was and if she behaves better than kids.. doens't shed or lick plates why can't she come??? you can't say it's because of allergies or because she will be all over the place because both of those arguments don't hold up. how can you say no to this face :) |
A lot of people are allergic to dogs(and you can't say well, a yorkie can come in here, but, shedding dogs can't)..people usually aren't allergic to kids. |

I completely understand what the OP is saying though. S'anah is better behaved and cleaner than most kids (including my own at times) as well. I think as long as she is kept in her stroller or bag there shouldn't be a problem. |
1 Attachment(s) Yes I agree!!! Roxy wouldnt be licking any plates, and she is just so civilized all the time. She is clean, and plus... she doesnt shed, she doesnt cause allergy flare ups because she doesnt shed... and even so... SHE IS IN A CLOSED UP STROLLER!!! I would even put a little blanket over her... Where she could look out, and she'd probably sleep the whole time anyways... I believe I love Roxy just as much as I love a child... Just because I didnt give birth to her, I felt like I adopted her just like you would adopt a child... She is my most precious little thing, my heart... and I think I should be able to take her anywhere... How can anybody say no to this???? Attachment 185255 Awww. |

There is a lot more chance of catching a disease from a person than an animal... most bacteria and viruses are species specific. I think I'm allergic to kids most of the time too LOL They really make me nervous most of the time |
Many ppl are allergic to many things, my Mother is allergic to perfume, and that doesnt stop ppl from wearing perfume all the time... My friend is allergic to the ingredients in shampoo, and many times when she is around little kids, she gets a rash from the type of shampoo they use in their hair... Theres no way to stop EVERYONES allergies, but Roxy wouldnt cause that to happen anyways since she is well kept, doesnt shed, & concealed. It is quite bothersome to have her with me all day and have to take her home just cause I want to go out to eat... I go to burlington because they love when I bring her there... But WalMart gives me a big hoopla. I've never had one person have a problem with her... my mom has terrible allergies, and she has no problem with Roxy... Only my Chihuahuas... because they carry dander and shed. |
While I TOTALLY agree with most of the posting becuase my Lil man is much cleaner than most people and their snot nose kids. I can also see where it is only appropriate for certain places. I can see if it is an outside casual restaurant, but an inside restaurant maybe not so much. Mainly becuase all dogs would not be appropriate. I mean I don't want a giant Lab sitting in the booth next to me :) I love 'em but don't want to eat by them. However, you are also right, sometimes I have Cosmo in my front backpack when I go into Target or Trader Joes. He is contained and clean so why not?! I also hate the LOOKS! Like geez those ppl with small dogs have to take them everywhere like they are their children...NEWS FLASH HE IS MY CHILD!!! I mean I still have a 10 year old daughter at home, but my DH got me Cosmo when my 20 year old son moved out so I wouldn't have such a breakdown! AND you are right he is cleaner, better behaved, and better dressed than most ppl's grubby little kids :D Love kids too, it is just a point:p |
I still don't understand that. I have taken Susanah into Nordstrom's. They loved her! I have taken her into Tiffany's with me. They had a blast playing with her. I have taken her into just about every store in the "upper class" mall in Atlanta. She even sat in my lap while I got one of the "makeovers" at the M.A.C. counter. But OMG Wal-Mart and Target both threw a FIT! LOL! |

The problem is that if we get to take our furbabies into restaurants then that opens up the door for ALL dogs to come into restaurants.....and we all have to agree there are lots of dogs out there that we would ALL hate to see in restaurants!!! |
I totally agree with you!!! I wish I could take Katie with me. And like you said she's cleaner then most kids and I would have her in a CLOSED UP STROLLER!!! I wish more people would see it from our point of view. They are our kids. |
I KNOW!!! I take Roxy into Macy's, Hot Topic, Burlington, and I even take her to get our nails done at the salon... and when I get my hair done, they let her there, and she is even allowed at Panera Bread and Starbucks. But as soon as I go to WalMart, Eat N Park, or Big Lots (which doesnt even have food!!!) They freak out!!!!! I think its ridiculous!!! ***I have snuck her into WalMart and Target before... I had her in her stroller with a blanket over, and they just assumed it was a baby... lol*** |

These are the ones that love us, never judge us, and never say stuff like "I hate you", "I wish you were dead"... they just look at us with love, and they deserve to go with us just as much as everybody else... Kids are bad, and they get rewarded with going out to eat... Our babies love us unconditionally, and we are just going to leave them at home to cry for us and miss us??? Thats terrible... A TRAVESTY!!! |
I dont get the wal-mart thing. They say cause of the food but the food is all in a package. My dog in a carrier is not going to go lick something. Im sick of people telling me I cant have my dog in places. I wish my kids loved me half as much as my dogs do!!!!!! |
Any many dog owners feel your pain Mickey!!! We are left out because of our dogs, yet ppl are allowed to take their kids in places and are more careless with their children than I am with my dog... (Not putting down all parents... but I see a lot of irresponsible parents, especially younger parents like my best friend) These kids just run around and touch things and get their greasy paws on stuff, and my Yorkies hands are clean and kept in the carrier or stroller... They should call childrens hands PAWS and clean little puppies paws HANDS! |
I really don't want dog hair in my food at a restaurant...I don't have problems with dogs in stores(although, at least here in SC, they're not allowed, but, I do have a problem with having a dog in a restaurant..as far as kids behavior, I have 3(all adults now), and mine always went to restaurants clean and very well behaved...if they weren't, they never would have been taken back to one... |

I wish all parents made sure their kids were well-behaved and clean but I too see a lot of irresponsible parents who let their kids run wild. It really bugs me |
I am like this too MFL. I would much rather have my clean Yorkie near my food, PLUS as I said, but ppl dont understand... My Yorkie doesnt shed... I have more hair in my brush than she has in hers!!! lol... My hair falls out like crazy, and hers is so smooth and perfect all the time... She doesnt shed at all. And its great that hha kept their kids in line, I am glad to hear that, I was like that too, and often when I was young I even looked sourly at poorly behaved children in disgust. I still have that bad habit of looking, but more at the parents now. A lot of parents used to be good with their kids, but ppl like my best friend are having kids too young, and theyre not even able to take care of themselves, and her kids are ALWAYS bad! and I see many when I go out to eat... Roxy isnt like this at all... She is quiet... She is sweet, she just stays in her little closed up stroller and sleeps, so even if SHE DID shed her hair would be in the stroller... I dont see the problem here... |

Like I said, some owners of dogs need to be responsible too... if it was an outside restaurant... I wouldnt mind a retriever being out there, but the fact is they do shed... but I wouldnt mind (myself) being next to a retriever if it was in a big stroller or one of those cage strollers, it wouldnt bother me... but I dont think it should be up on the booth either... Just like Roxy, I wouldnt have her up in the booth, but I would have her in her closed in stroller sitting there knowing she is part of the family and she gets to go fun places too, and then I can give her her Cesar inside of her little Stroller. |
I think that people get sick from eating the food served (meats) then a dog sitting next to them in a restaurant. |

I dont like to use the fact that somebody is young and dont know any better. I was young and my kids had or have to walk a fine line. That said That might be why my dog loves me more than the kids. But I am not trying to be my kids friend. I feel I am there mother aka teacher. Parents these days just dont want to be mean, dont want to hurt there feelings. Or they just dont give a care. My kids are better. When did we all have to be better than everone else. I just get so dang mad when I see kids acting like little brats and the parents doing nothing about it. My nephew is one of them. He eats, sleeps, and does what ever he wants to do when ever he want to. His mother tells me thing like John didnt want to go to school today or he didnt want to get dressed today. He wanted to eat cake for breakfast. What???? Who is the parent?? He only takes a bath once a month cause he doesnt want to. Give me a break. This is a lady that was 27 when she had this kid. Ohh and he is only 5 . I have been going through this since he was a baby. Sorry for going on but I dont get it. Then they want to tell me my (dog) that takes a bath every week cant go to wal-mart. I just dont get it. |

I have seen some mean and nasty, unkept, stinky, slobbering pooches out and about. Some are even unleashed and their owner acts like its fine to let their pet look horrible, and some times they are just as unkept as the animal:eek: Not all dogs or their owners are behaved and clean, and they would think it would be fine and dandy to take their unkept dog with them out to eat too! You would be just as irritated with a barking dog as you would be a crying child! People talk so much about how parents are irresponsible for kids these day's but the same can be said about pet owners too! Just imagine them in a store letting their animal run around! |
