| I know one solution that would probably work. Get another Yorkie! When we got our first two Yorkies they slept together in the crate and never cried because they had each other. Maybe put something in the crate for her to cuddle up to. She was used to being with her mother and probably litter mates as well. I have a one week old Yorkie that sleeps in the crate with her Mommy and doesn't cry at all at night. Mommy keeps her warm and feeds her too! Good luck. It will get better! She needs to adjust.

| I wouldn't put him in the bed with you, for one thing, there has been puppies that have been rolled on and killed that way, plus you will most likely have pee in the bed in the morning..They will cry for a couple nights in their crates(Myself, I prefer the xpens)..they're like a baby, they cry, you pick them up and they stop, you can't pick them up when they cry..Try putting a warm blanket over him at night, and put a little clock in there too, maybe a stuffed animal, but, don't give in to him. |

| Congrats to you on your little furbutt.. That is kinda young for a baby to leave siblings. So that is one reason for the crying, No siblings to snuggle with. I would definitely crate train. I had one I did not and she would always wake in the night and go potty in the hallway. She is 1.5 years old now and much better. But had I crate trained, it would have taught her to go through the night. If you try putting the crate right beside you bed, this could help,. then you can talk and baby knows your close. Also if you try keeping baby awake until as late as possible, the more tired, the easier going to bed will be.. I am sure you will have lots of suggestions. Good luck. pooh's mum |

| Chip was really sick when we brought him home, so the first night we slept on the floor with him in between us. That was the only way he would calm down. After that he slept with us for about 3 weeks and it was working out good until he stopped telling us when he needed to potty and started peeing on the bed. One morning I was really not feeling well and trying to rest a little in the morning and all he wanted to do was play, I put him in his crate and he layed right down and went to sleep. From that day on until about November he slept in his crate and was in his crate when we left the house. We didn't have a problem getting him to sleep in his crate if we were there. We had a problem with getting him to stay quiet when we left (and still do). We tried getting an alarm clock that ticked and wrapped it in my husbands shirt that he had worn for awhile to comfort him. When he wasn't looking we would throw some treats in there for him to find later and he always had PLENTY of toys for him to play with. What ever you do, don't take her out when she's crying. If you want to take her out, wait until she is quiet. If you take her out when she is crying, she'll learn that when she cries, she gets out and she'll never learn to like her crate. If you think she is crying because she needs to go out, take her straight outside and wait until she potties. When you bring her back inside, put her back in her crate.

| Welcome to YT. Congrates on your new babie. When I got Deiter I would put a towel over the crate, that helped, then I would tell him no cry, no bark. Once he would stop all the above I would take him out to potty, and when potty give a cherrio to him outside and tell him good potty, being in and play with him for a while then back out to potty and repeat. Bring in put in crate, leave until stop crying, then tell him good no cry and repeat. I did this all day and evening. But if I could be with him I would leave out so I could watch to make sure he didn't potty on floor. if looked like he needed to potty i would put him on a wee wee pad and say potty here. But try putting a towel over and see if that works. Good luck

| Also I think they have some stuff at PetSmart that you can spray that gives off a pheromone smell of their mother to calm them. If it gets too bad, you could try that since she is probably missing her mommy and litter mates. BTW Congrats on the new baby! Yorkies are a lot of fun. Now I suffer from MYTS (multiple yorkshire terrier syndrome). They are addicting! You'll have another furball before you know it! lol
