Congrats to you on your little furbutt..
That is kinda young for a baby to leave siblings. So that is one reason for the crying, No siblings to snuggle with. I would definitely crate train.
I had one I did not and she would always wake in the night and go potty in the hallway. She is 1.5 years old now and much better. But had I crate trained, it would have taught her to go through the night.
If you try putting the crate right beside you bed, this could help,. then you can talk and baby knows your close.
Also if you try keeping baby awake until as late as possible, the more tired, the easier going to bed will be..
