Im sorry this happened to Mr. Biggs. I wonder why they gave him the wrong dose..was the person just not paying attention and grabbed the wrong size? I'm glad he's okay

| Petsmart Almost Killed Mr. Biggs I would document everything and sue them. It is sad that we have to know more than the professionals and retailers need to educate their employees better. It's a hard lesson to learn, but I always check the weight on Frontline and Heartguard. I am so happy that your baby is alright.

Obviously I was very upset when I made this post, but once people read it they realize I'm talking about the people at Banfield. i said petsmart, because banfield is in petsmart so I tend to associate it with that. But when people read the post they can see I'm talking about the pet hospital in the petsmart. But thanks for the heads up...although I doubt petsmart will sue me for slander. lol

I know it's not the entire hospital, just the one at my location, and if one of their people screw up, the whole hospital is to be held accountable. Because had something happend to my baby, I would have sued the hospital, not just the person who gave me the wrong dose. They're always semi busy and frazzled at the Banfield's that I've seen. If it had been me getting my medication, them being busy wouldn't be a sufficent enough excuse for giving me the wrong dose. You'd think they would check before they ring you up that they've given you the correct size/dose. Oh, and they didn't just grab the wrong one.. They rung me up for the wrong one too... it says advantix 20 on my receipt...but I didn't catch the mistake until I had already put it on him

| Update So yesterday i called the Banfield and asked to speak to their Cheif of Staff. The reply I got was that they don't have a Cheif of Staff. i said boy, that's funny, it says you have one on the business card i grabed off of your counter. She asked me the name, so i told her. She then said that he was with a patient, so I explained the situation to her. her response was that if the prosuct could be poisonous, then it wouldn't be on the market. I told her that when my dog is given a dose 4 times the amount he is supposed to be given, it then becomes toxic! She proceeded to get an attitude with me and told me that she uses both kinds on her dog and has never had any problems and that my dog couldn't have died from it. I told her that was funny because I was told BY A VET to watch my dog for signs of poisoning. I do believe that if it wasn't toxic to my dog that they would have said that instead of warning me to watch for signs of poising and to bring him in if anything happens. I left a message with her for the cheif of staff to call me back as soon as possible...and do you think anyone called me back???? NO! Of corse not, because the girl was a complete bitch. I mean seriously telling me that my dog couldn't have been poisoned??? She works at the freakin desk, not in a white coad with an MD degree. GRRR... I'm just to upset! And the fact that no one returned my call pisses me off even more! I'm going to call the corporate office and I'm going to call the location afterwards. And tonight when i get off work I'm picking up the dog and taking him with me to petsmart. These people made such a big mistake and they have to be held accountable for it...and boy will i make them feel like s**t. Thanks everyone for all of your thoguhts and prayers

| Good luck. I am so happy your baby is alright. The Banfield we have here is very careful about things like that happening. They tend to ck things 2ce before giving meds out to the customer. I know they have with me.

| We had almost the same experience. I will NEVER again put chemicals on my dogs. I went to Petco and bought Frontline. Put it on Mandy and within an hour she was dragging her back leg with her foot turned under. There were 3 vials in the package. The one I put on her was overly full and the other two hardly had any in it. I had already put it on her before we knew what happened. I am so glad your baby survived. That small it could have killed him. |

It sounds like your package of Frontline was either counterfeit or had been tampered with. | |
