| I don't mind most people holding her if they ask. Rosie gets calm and content in most people's arms. However, the last time we went to PetSmart a lady picked her up without asking me and kissed her . It bothered me that a stranger kissed her. Even thinking about it now it makes me feel a little sick. |

| Oh yeah. One more thing. I would never let someone walk away with my dog. That's just weird. |

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | the only time people just scoop up morgan is when we are at the dog park. Most of the time i'm ok with it because usually the people who pick her up are other yorkie owners or other tiny dog owners. I usually watch them like a hawk tho. When kids are in the park i always watch them because they think there is nothing wrong with picking up a small dog they don't know. Some parents will yell at their kids to leave the dogs alone because the dogs are there to play with other dogs not them. Other parents don't say anything. So whenever i see a kid that is hanging around morgan for more then just a pet i yell other to the to please not pick her up because she's very small and i just don't let kids pick her up. They usually oblige but if they don't i walk over and take morgan away.

| Bella runs away from strange people so I have no worries if we're at the dog park. And if I am carrying her, I don't let strange people take her from me. Otherwise around my nieces and nephews, they're not allowed to pick her up. They can sit down and play or hold her. Only my daughter (she's 10) and my eldest 2 nephews can hold her (they're 13 and 15)

| I don't let people hold Roxy either. I usually keep her in a bag in public, so she gets a lot of ear scratches. If she is out of the bag and someone asks, I usually tell them "if you sit down, she will let you hold her" I make it seem like it's Roxy's preference to be held or not. |

| I totally agree that it is not rude to say no. Sometimes I feel that people have no boundaries. I would never think of "borrowing" someone's puppy to show a friend. One time, after a lady petted my puppies, she asked me 3 times if I wanted to sell them! Then she asked me if I wanted a tarot card reading!! Lots of strange people out there. |

| Usually when I take slade out we are around other college students who miss their dogs from home and I let them hold him. if we are around kids I will let them hold him if they sit down and he's in their laps. No way would I let a stranger walk away with my dog. |

I live down town and they have lots of things that we go to during the spring and summer, When my 2 boy's were preemies back in 96 & 97 and we had them out for a walk down town, I would have a bunch of women want to hold my tiny baby believe it or not! It amazed me that they would think I would hand over my baby let alone a 4 pound baby to them! My husband told one lady that she was nuts if she thought she could hold his boy! I think that some people are just attracted to tiny things, like how some are attracted to shinny things | |

| I always either say Riley might bite or he is really wiggly. Most of the time, I'll just let children pet him, while I'm holding him. As for adults, most of them just look at him. They don't actually want to hold him. There was this one time, my boyfriend's friend came over to our house and saw Riley. She just walks over and picks him up without asking. Ughhhh... I was soooo uncomfortable. She held him for a few seconds, then I grabbed him and said he had to go eat. Lol. |

| I was at a community event a few weeks ago and everybody just adored Madeleine. At one point when I was letting her walk (on a leash of course) I was looking to the right and when I looked back to Madeleine who was on my left a woman had picked her up! I must have looked mortified because she immediately said "oh you don't mind do you? I just lost my 18 year old yorkie and I miss her so much." She then proceeded to take out her cell phone and show me a bunch of pictures of her yorkie. I felt bad for her but definitely didn't like that she just bent down and picked her up. I would NEVER do that to anyone else's dog!

| I don't normally let people hold Lacy. She gets really stiff and afraid when other people hold her. She's 7lbs so I'm not as worried about her getting dropped and hurt but I'm sure some stranger holding her 5-6feet up in the air is still scary for her.
