| I understand where you are coming from. We are having company tonight (no children), and I'm afraid everyone will want to hold our little 1.5 lb. baby. I think for people to be offended that you say "no," assuming they have a "right" to hold your dog is rude on their part - not yours. |

| Everyone always thinks I'm rude when I go out with Natalie.... they want to pet and hold her and I just kinda' smile as sweet as I can and gently pull her back....... they assume since I have her out in the world that she is "there for the petting" so to speak... but I don't take her out for THEM... I take her out for HER to see and do things... not to have her seen and done!! lol

| I tell strangers that she bites esp people with small children. If someone from my mom's bible study holds her when I bring her over she squirms like crazy then they see me hold her and say she isnt doing that. I was thinking do you get the point she dont feel safe with you.

| Don't feel bad, I don't let anyone I don't know hold my boys. There are lots of children in our neighborhood who swarm to us when we go for walks. They always crowd around to see them. That doesn't bother me too much, but it makes to boys nervous and scared. The local moms seem to get annoyed with me because the children always ask to hold them and I say no. I am always polite, but it only takes one second to have an accident. Our boys are the sunshine of our lives and I don't think it is worth the risk to let someone else hold them. I don't mind if people pet them, only after asking of course, just no to holding them. As my furbabies mom, it's my responsibility to be looking out for all possible accidents or injuries.

| Some girl asked me if she could hold Lily today when I was in the check-in line at the vet. I thought that was a weird place for someone to ask that. Lily was there because her micro-chip had fallen out , which she had gotten the day before along with getting spayed and getting 18...yes, I said 18 baby teeth pulled. She was all doped up and still very uncomfortable. I told the girl no.
